As you all are aware our electric power suppliers won’t even maintain their infrastructure unless forced by the government or nature to do so. So saying electric vehicles are unsupportable is only a temporary situation. Is it not possible that to charge batteries at home off the grid would be a NG powered generator? The power companies would see the market share loss and update their grid to accommodate recharging. Should electric cars become ubiquitous there will be uniformity of sizes and connections. Then a fill up on the highway will just be a battery swap! Up on ramps something grabs the battery, computer signals a disconnect, battery is lowered and charged one is inserted. Charge meter in computer sees full charge and locks the battery in and you swipe your credit/debit card and back on the road!

Yeah, I've been hearing about Utopia all my life, but haven't seen it work yet.
