[quote=Big dog]It’s the South fork of Long Island, New York. People from all over the world come to Montauk to go fishing.
Don’t forget the blue crabs and clams.
Had fun as a kid “fishing” for blue crabs near any pier and crabs at low tide then boiling them in the outdoor fire place at my Dad’s friends place. We also took fresh clams from the refrigerator, split them open and slurp!
You could even feel them wiggle on the way down.

I'm glad you are suggesting East of the Rockies as we have too many people here on the west coast and the fishing is "crappie". , within 20 minutes to three hours we have Stripers, King Salmon, Silvers, Rainbows, Browns, Bass ,Crappie, 15 different varieties of salt water at a minimum including Halibut of two types, Lings, Reds, Blacks, Vermillion, and of coarse the ole sturgeon just to name a few and we only get 278 days of sunshine a year. It does snow here once every 15 years or so!!!

And,: ¿Are you FLUENT, in either Spanish or French? ... There's a heck of a lot of good fishing; but ... I know that my Father had made the comment once, that if he hadn't decided on S. Florida (Ft. Pierce); he would have opted for the Finger Lakes region of New York.

I am glad I didn’t ask the question. You guys gave me a Haddock just thinking about it.
I would go to Arkansas... great weather year round !! Great bass fishing
My Dad, being a native Louisianan, always swore by its reputation as 'The Sportsman's Paradise.'
Great thinking on that answer.
Anywhere BUT Washington State. The Coast is too wet, Eastern Washington too hot in summer, cold in winter. Fishing is lousy with only just about anything you want to catch available. Nope, definitely anywhere but Washington.
Yes and he was probably right!
Now for who ever came up with this idea! If there was such a place the if everyone wanted to live there it would become uninhabitable for most! Only the wealthiest fishermen could afford it! Just Sayin...RJS

I have been there several times fishing and it has been unbelievable. Redfish, trout, sheepshead and a great variety of salt water fish near shore and tuna, wahoo, and mahi out about 30 miles. Fish the rigs and you will catch jack cravelle, rainbow runners and amberjack. I have not fished fresh water but I have no doubt that the LM bass fishing is pretty good too.

While driving through Louisiana, you can stop your car many places on almost any road/highway and cast within a short walking distance from parking and land a nice fish.
I recently bought a vacation place in Suwanee Florida. Insurers snuck, redfish, trout. Weather is mild. Offshore snapper grouper, Cobia, king fish. All kinds of stuff.
I love fishing, this is where I’m going to retire
