Above Townsend TN. There's a small stream as you head into the mountain. I'm not sure about the name of the trout but they are about the size of a minnow. Used size 18 hook. The limit was 5 I think but we tossed them back..

Who ever to begin. I bought s used 16 foot job boat with a 35 horse that after thank you tips for The boat shop turns out to be a very good motor. I was going to use it for trout only but went out on lake and as I reached out to left side to retrieve a lure my wife leaves to the left and dumped me into the lake. Then I feel inside the boat.
So there was a large boat sale at the convention center.
She said there's what you need to stay in the boat and not in the river. I did fall out of it once in the river. But I had a fishing partner so I was rescued. And back in boat.
There's much more room and a tad easier to move around.
My biggest prob is I have no balance in my order days. Military days in the wonderland caught up to me.

yes Tom , if you'll put in at what we locals call YapYank bridge located off of Hixson Pike from 27 highway you"ll see the bridge after a few miles on your left. put in there head towards lake. at the entrance to the lake stop and fish that out crop to the left. also if you"ll got to the left you'll see a green bouy . theres a 40 foot drop just to the right going north from a 20 foot ledge.. there usuall a few large fish inn that area. Including Walleye.. i only had a regular depth finder at that time.. beware there are about 5 points once you enter the lake from the boat ramp. stay to the left for 1st bank on the left which is also the main channel.. i live on top of whats called Daisy Mtn. now called Mowbray Mtn. perhaps we can get together some day. I'm not real familar with the lake as i had not fished it in years. TVA decided to spray for milfoil and killed off all the fish habitat .. so i trout fished. now its back to normal. have a good move

Mow,
I am assuming you have your graphs and Pan Opix running off your Starting Battery? If you were miles from ramp, you must have ran outboard for quite some time to get there.. How long did you fish before getting ready to go back to dock… how many graphs? I know they pull a lot of amps, especially the Pan Optics… was this the first time using the Pan Optics?

it was the first time using it on a night trip. I had turned it on for a hour or so in the daylight but that was about all the use i have used

It's been a few years since I have been on here. I'm 74 . Names Glenn.
I live in southeast TN. The lake is about one half an hour from me and I had a real experience happen. I had Garmin panoptic installed and was about to get to the water. Thought batteries were charged up.
Got in the water started right up no probs.
I'm not sure what happened but once in the spot my bud had in mind I shut down and we watched the monitor for about one hour and a half. That were my prob became a real hardship. It was late evening with black skies. Was gonna move and no start. No way to jump boat off. We used trolling motor trying to head back to harbour and we were miles from harbor. The rest is history but it was a long night. I'm not sure what drained my batteries and long story short,, does anyone know if my Garmin and Panoptic was the drain on batteries. I don't want to let that happen again. It took us 7 hours to get out of the water after fighting wind a broke paddle and finally one seen is and came to our rescue. That might no one was on the water at all. We traveled as far up lake as boat would carry us for close to 45 minutes.
I have a bass tracker 2019 twx tourny edition w/75 hp. This lake I've been told is the bass capital of lakes..

Oh yeah I think she's onto my ways after 54 years. If I break a flower it's up to me to replace it. Can get expensive.

Bear learned to Fly Fish from watching a bunch of goofballs like all of us. Now doesn't have to swim anymore to catch fish.

Now that's funny.

Whatever is will be.
I could use a good reel for my fly rod although I don't wade streams or head waters I figure I can try the fly rod out on my boat and see what it brings about. A good fight I'm guessing. Any info will be greatly appreciated. I think my reel walked off since it had not been to the water in years.
