Before I post today's trivia guestion I would like to give a Shout out to the following individuals who encouraged me to keep the questions alive.

and a special thanks π to DC, who suggested a new thread daily. So that the subject doesn't get lost in the mix.
First off let me state that I am not interested in the # of threads I start. What I'm interested in is the enjoyment we receive from our sport, our lives and of course challenging our minds.
So on with the show. Today's trivia guestion is. What is the smallest species of Trout in the United States?
Because the thread was started mid-afternoon I will run this guestion until Sunday evening.
Thanks π again to the for mentioned individuals. Commander Bell out

I agree with Nutz, brook trout.
Yep, I agree, Native Brook Trout.
That is also my guess, Brook Trout. I remember Grandpa sayingβ¦ got a couple little brookies for the pan. One time he fried some up on an old railroad plate we found on the track next to a tributary to the Blackfoot River. Maybe I shouldnβt go on in here.

Gotta be the brookies
What is the largest brook trout ever caught?
The Biggest Brook Trout in the World (According to IGFA)
The current record is 14 pounds and was caught in the Nipigon River in Ontario, Canada. There are a few double digit brook trout on record, but finding a larger than 15-pound brook trout will be hard to do.
I dont think it is
Above Townsend TN. There's a small stream as you head into the mountain. I'm not sure about the name of the trout but they are about the size of a minnow. Used size 18 hook. The limit was 5 I think but we tossed them back..
