I am moving to Soddy Daisy soon and will be only 5 min. from Chickamauga Lake. Any suggestions for this lake? Any help would be appreciated. I have always fished for largemouth and smallmouth bass.

Welcome to the Stage Tom, sorry no help here either, but another lake on my bucket list. The Tennessee boys should be around sooner or later. Good luck in your new location, and on the lake. Tight Lines!

Chickamauga was voted number 2 best bass lake in America in 2018.
I’ve read up on it because I had a chance to go but it fell thru
Just about every kind of bass habitat you can imagine. From shallow cover to deep ledges and everything in between.
Smallie and spot fishing is supposed to be good as well.
I really envy you. You are gonna be a happy camper there

I'd love to wet a line in that lake myself. Matt and Tim, the Clear Lake boys that have the YouTube channel Tactical Bassin recently packed up and moved there. So far they have posted just a few videos made during the Winter months and it looks like it was a smart move.

The guys from Tactical Bassin just moved to that lake last year. Matt and Tim have been working that lake along with watts bar, and loudon lake, and other area lakes in the area. Plus give reports on YouTube for what to do on other lakes in other states.

Soddy Daisy man you gonna be right in the middle of 100 miles of great fishing. The Chick this time of year can produce some of the biggest bass of the year. An A rig or swim bait pulled slowly around bluffs, transitions and on warmer days close to flats can really hang a big one. I used to have a friend, he's passed now who lived there and would fish with him from time to time and winter he was on the lake almost every day. He had several fish in the double digits normally caught his on a 5 or 6 inch swim bait, but when it got tough he'd downsize to smaller swimsuits. Jigs and cranks in the spring through fall. Some very good Crappie fishing year round. Good luck and if you ever need a back seat observer give me a shout I'm just East of you on Tim's Ford lake.

Look up Creek Fishing Adventures, he is on YouTube and from that area. He is a great source for locating good fishing and different baits that are successful. There is plenty of great fishing in East Tn, welcome!

You're making a good move. There are numerous lakes near you that produce some very nice fish. There are several Bass fishing videos on YouTube for the lakes in your area..3 B fishing.... Epps fishing and more. I personally lived about 5 minutes from Douglas Lake ans 30 minutes frome Cherokee Lake. I had never fished either one of these lakes before. The locals are pretty tight lipped about fishing information, so I decided to figure it out on my own and it dint take long before I was boating some nice smaller and large mouth bass. I had to move back to KY for health reasons, but I'm planning a trip back to East TN in late spring this year.
My advice...stick to the basics and refine your fishing as you get to know your surroundings better. You won't be disappointed.
PS.... anyone who wants to fish Douglas Lake this spring is welcome to meet me there. I'll have more details later on or just email me. " Life's short, Fish it well ".

yes Tom , if you'll put in at what we locals call YapYank bridge located off of Hixson Pike from 27 highway you"ll see the bridge after a few miles on your left. put in there head towards lake. at the entrance to the lake stop and fish that out crop to the left. also if you"ll got to the left you'll see a green bouy . theres a 40 foot drop just to the right going north from a 20 foot ledge.. there usuall a few large fish inn that area. Including Walleye.. i only had a regular depth finder at that time.. beware there are about 5 points once you enter the lake from the boat ramp. stay to the left for 1st bank on the left which is also the main channel.. i live on top of whats called Daisy Mtn. now called Mowbray Mtn. perhaps we can get together some day. I'm not real familar with the lake as i had not fished it in years. TVA decided to spray for milfoil and killed off all the fish habitat .. so i trout fished. now its back to normal. have a good move

Mow... as long as it's not another "her boyfriend gave her the idea" story, I look forward to hearing it.

Who ever to begin. I bought s used 16 foot job boat with a 35 horse that after thank you tips for The boat shop turns out to be a very good motor. I was going to use it for trout only but went out on lake and as I reached out to left side to retrieve a lure my wife leaves to the left and dumped me into the lake. Then I feel inside the boat.
So there was a large boat sale at the convention center.
She said there's what you need to stay in the boat and not in the river. I did fall out of it once in the river. But I had a fishing partner so I was rescued. And back in boat.
There's much more room and a tad easier to move around.
My biggest prob is I have no balance in my order days. Military days in the wonderland caught up to me.
