Is there any Perch being caught in the Central Basin of Lake Erie? I only hear rumors about limit catches of Perch in the Western Basin in and around the Islands but I've not seen anything in writing or pictures. Are there any Perch fishing charters that are active or available?

Fishing out of Beaver Park Marina in 32 Ft we caught very few, however they were nice sized perch. We moved 3 or 4 times even coming in to 26 ft and caught a few more. The bite was few and far between with most bites near the bottom or a crank or two up. Other boaters in the same general area were also moving around. Any comments and or hints and tips to share???

We're lucky here in Northeast Ohio to have a "Family" owned outdoor store "Fin, Feather, Fur" that is always my first go to. There was a "Gander Mountain" here for maybe 10 years that was my 2nd home, according to my wife. Their Mountain crumbled when Cabelas/BassPro moved in less than 10 miles away. They both are weak on fly tying supplies. We have a Dunhams but they are like Walmart. I only mention Dicks to say good riddance, don't come back. We all have choices according to our preferred sport, our location and our allowable income.

Anyone know of a lake or pond near Destin Florida where you can fish for bass or bluegills? I'm a "snowbird" here for 6 weeks, and would like to find a place to fish while I'm here.

Ben, I don’t like using anyone else’s gear. Number one, if something happens to it I’ll feel responsible even if I’m not. Number two, everyone’s settings are different and when I fish I don’t have time to figure out their stuff. Number three, I always bring my own stuff and I don’t loan it out to anyone. ANYONE!

I like all aspects and all kinds of fishing including Ice fishing but my "go to" has always been fly fishing for the past 20 or so years. Collecting old reels from different mfg. along with some rods that might need some TLC has also been my hobby. During my searches if I come across an outfit, spinning, bait casting or fly fishing that looks almost new with little or no cosmetic damage I'll buy it. Once I have paid for it and get it home in my workshop I do a detailed inspection, do some cleaning, lubricating and replace the line to my preference. Now it's mine and I'm not worried about who or where it came from. Lake Erie is close to me but there are numerous State, County and private bodies of water where I get to wet a line. Having said all that does anyone out there refurbish old fly rods. I recently acquired a large quantity of vintage fly rods that need cleaning up some need guides replaced.

In 2002 I had a real fish mounted, a 31" walleye, and I told him how I wanted it done, and he did a good job. A replica mounted at the same time would have been more expensive, and I'm a cheapskate. I'm not sure if a replica is more expensive now or not. If it is a decent fish, definitely have a pro do, it not a rookie. Do you have the fish now, or are you thinking into the future?

I don't have the fish now so the future consideration is my thinking. But I have to tell my wife how important this is. Lol, wish me luck!

I'm looking for info / help to locate a reasonable priced place that makes the replica fish mounts using a picture, length, girth and weight? Any help would be appreciated.

Mepps spinners work well for trout and bass. Rubber worms (Kelly) work well but have 3 hooks that injure the fish. A Whopper Plopper has also been used to catch smallmouth, largemouth and a 32 inch Northern Pike in the Allegheny River in PA.
