Had an old rapala that looked like that. When I was living in Colorado, I was fishing at a lake in Colorado Springs and had one bitten in half. One of the rangers said it was probably a pike as they had some in that lake. Never did find out what it really was.

My sentiments exactly. I spent 22 1/2 years on active duty and am proud of it. Navy vet!
Isn't that also called a blackfish?
Was up there about two weeks ago and the fishing in June lake was great. Our group brought home about 40 lbs of filets and we cooked up a bunch also. The largest we caught was about 6+lbs. most were in the 3+ lb range. Have fun.
I use that all the time when fishing for trout. Got back from June lake about a week ago and used the rainbow power bait exclusively. Using a #16 treble hook my group brought home over 40 lbs worth of rainbows. These were the wild ones and not the stockers. Biggest one was about 6 1/2 lbs that my grandson caught. I caught a 3 1/2 lb one myself. We were all using 6 lb test line with a 4 lb test leader. Was lots of fun. Sorry, don't know how to transfer pictures from my cell to this site. Had a great time.
I think June lake is open now.
Don't bother. I really think it is dead. The stench can be overwhelming. Won't eat anything from that place.
About 6 of us are heading up to June lake this Friday for about a week of fishing. Any suggestions?
Looks like a wiper to me.
About the bananas, It is considered bad luck to either eat or bring bananas on a fishing boat.
That is what is called a lamprey, They are a pain in the butt. Once they latch on, they don't want to let go. They love fresh blood. Beware of them.
When I lived on the east coast and was going fishing for blues, I made sure I had a bunch of buzz bombs with me. They were really for salmon, but the blues loved them. Once you hook one, hold on tight.
They have a hybrid called a wiper there. Have caught them there.
