I’ve repaired a couple of 6” rapala floaters lately with missing lips.
I don’t like how the company installs the lips. They are not much holding them in. The first couple of pictures is how they are originally notched very shallow. The wood is balsa and the strength is in the wire so i notched it out deep to the wire and made the new lip just to fit over the wire. This will hold up. I use a two part epoxy to glue it together and seal it up from the water. And I made the lips from lexan
These are the musky size rapala and they are kinda expensive

Slow, but they are there. You must work for them, both salmon and bass

Kentucky Spotted Bass should be hammering Roboworms right now. Try Aaron’s Magic, morning dawn, baby bass, hologram, shad varieties …4.5 inch curly tail, 6 # test, #4 lead head jig. Tight lines…

A high school friend of mine recently snapped this photo on the Delaware river (New Jersey side.) Thought is was pretty awesome. The American Shad migration is on and the osprey are taking full advantage.

As a long-time shutterbug (both pro and am) I have to admire this pic. The photographer is utilizing a very fast (around 1/2000 second) shutter speed and wide aperture (f/stop)….not to mention a complex camera and long telephoto lens. I use this technique with my rodeo photos.

It sure looks like a Brown to me. I do not believe there are any Lake trout in Calif except in Tahoe and Donner lake. Did you catch it on light tackle? I caught one that size out of the Truckee River on 4 lb test using a Panther Martin against the current! We could not fit that monster in our cooler, a neighbor at our campsite came by to ask us how we did, I told him about my Brown and how big it was and he kind thought I was exaggerating.....until I showed him the fish and then he could not believe that I caught that fish in this small river! I was able to get some pictures on our instamatic camera and ate it that night. We drove into town the next morning my family and I in my Camaro and my parents in my dad’s F150. As we were driving into town, I was in front and my parents behind me, I could see in my rear view camera, that someone had left the camera on my dad’s step side! So I signaled my dad to pull over and as we were I saw the camera fall off the step side and my Father ran over it! That was the only proof of the biggest trout that I ever caught in my life, and its just a fisherman's story now!
It sure looks like a Brown to me. I do not believ... (show quote)

Many lakes in NorCal hold Mackinaw…here is one of many I’ve caught in Bucks Lake (Quincy,CA).

Hi All,
I inherited a Shimano Stradic 1000FH spinning reel (2 - 6lb line). Looking for a good but not too expensive rod to pair it up with. This will be used for pan fish and small bass. It comes with an extra spool so I'll probably run one with braid and the other mono. I know there are a lot of options but I'm looking for your opinion.. Thanks, Jeff

Ocuma makes a good ultra lite…some retailers offer free rod replacement should you break one,🐟.
