Went ultralight jigging in 60 degree Sturgeon Pond this evening on a cool, sunny day with a west wind gale. Didn’t get a hit until 7 PM, then caught and released 6 black crappies to 10” with a 1/32 oz green and chartreuse twister tail jig on 2 lb test line. A police car 🚓 stopped near my car 🚗 then engaged lights and sirens before leaving. Saw two beavers 🦫. Took pictures and made videos. Saw Canada geese, wood ducks, doves and turtles 🐢. So sorry about the weeds and grass in your local pond. I do enjoy reading about your fishing adventures so I hope you have another spot you can get to for more fishing.
We went out Friday afternoon and all I caught was a small white bass and my wife caught an 11 inch black crappie, both c&r. Fish on!!

I remember one time on vacation with my parents and siblings in upper Michigan. I was 17, the first time I was able to take my own car and boat with me. One day my sister, who was 11 at that time, were catching crappies near a cedar tree that had fallen into about ten feet of water. After a while I noticed a Beaver swimming right at the boat, but behind my sister. When he got close to the boat, I quickly raised my hands and shook them. Well this frightened the Beaver and he smacked his tail and dove underwater. Scared the hell out of my sister.
