Thanks Joe,
I would never have figured out l b i. Sea clams? Do you dig these yourself along the beach or do you purchase them? And is this fishing all day long or just very early dim light in the morning and in the evening?

Thanks Flytier, great suggestion. Some of our mom n pops bait shops went under during covid. I'll get out and make some calls.

NJfishing.com is good for salt water info especially in Monmouth and Ocean Counties.

Yes, thanks USAF Major for the web site. Do you belong to or know of a good surf fishing club?

Joe, I'm just starting to surf fish. So, I'm looking for useful information. You said "surf fishing I b i" and I don't understand what that was supposed to mean. Would you help me with this?

I live in southern Connecticut, Stamford, and I'm really interested in locating places to fish for strip bass during the spring migration that has public access and parking. I certainly don't mind walking but I want to primarily fish in the dark so safety is important. Boulder fields or jettys will be my primary targets. I realize that fishing spots are really special and secret but there must be a few guys who have experience with some places they are not fishing on a regular basis they might share. Maybe I'm totally wrong with this assumption. On another note does anyone belong to a surf caster's or surf fishing club that they would recommend. Thanks for any helpful thought you are willing to share.

I agree with your observations OJ and Beer: 30.

I personally think a professional fishing contest that gives out tons of prize money should allow only 1 single barbless hook per lure. Lets see who is the BEST at actually catching and landing the fish in order to win the prizes.

How exactly do you catch or harvest sand crabs (sand fleas)? I do surf fish but have never used these as bait. I'm very interested in learning about how, when, and where...

I like the idea of dyeing and then freezing.

Hello, did I miss something? Exactly what brand and model did you buy last spring for $650?

I'm a 70s year old guy who fishes a lot. Grew up in Texas with bass and catfish and all in between. Learned to fly fish in Montana where I lived for 25 years. Now I live on the New England coast and fish for steelhead inn Lake Ontario but most of the time in salt water when I'm near home.

I would love to find a person(s) who fishes for strip bass in the Long Island Sound so we could share experiences and learn together. I'm now surf fishing during the migration and mostly at night.
