lake Appalachia Murphey NC is a great brown trout fishery very little boat traffic and fish right at the breakwall below the Hiawassee dam there is some bank access it is a Trophy fishery browns to 10 pounds and bigger are possible but a average one is about 15 18 inches or so good luck and tight lines!!

ok i have fished this lake a few times a year for a couple different species it is a great smallmouth lake also has a good population of rainbow trout also the lake also the past few years it has recieved 5000 bwown trout as well these should start showing up soon both big waterfalls are good for variety trolling the main lake at 20 to 30 feet will produce a mixed bag spoons and minnow plugs produce well and if you like yellow perch work the channel leading to the waterfall by the road nightcrawlers close to the bottom will produce some big ones good luck and tight lines!!!

Perfect time of year to fish a jig head with a nightcrawler or crawler harness on clay points and banks and the more windblown the better should be timing it just right next 3 or 4 weeks this pattern should hold good luck and tight lines!!!

Hi skip i grew up in Marion and have fished the lake my entire life and i am 57 the catawba side has more large mouth and can sometimes get a little color when its been raining the Linville side is mostly smallmouth and can be clear most of the time there is a good topwater bite in the mornings off main lake points for both species early spring a bass assasin works well also worked around docks and visible cover if you need more info just let me know and good luck and tight lines!!!!!

i fish it often great smallmouth and largemouth lake i personally troll for walleye and lake trout with a few rainbows for good measure . everything should be hitting i put in at rat branch and mostly fish below the bridge may is a great month on watauga good luck and tight lines!!

Up near the dam in the summer months for stripers its a good large mouth lake mian windblown points in the winter produce good and as far as crappie the lake has a decent population pitching deep docks should produce a few

What do you fish for if you likr smallmouth the french broad river is full of them also you are surounded by trout streams most of them are public assessable just depends on what you are fishing for i llive in Mills River and fish different waters almost every week

Hi Wolf grew up in henderson first12 years of my life have fished it randomly since then Gaston has a great population of big blue cats up to 100 pounds plus a very good bass and crappie lake also havent fished Ker in quite a few years but it was a great bass and crappie lake good luck and tight lines

Here are a few that have good popuiations lake james ,natahala ,santeela,fontana ,also watauga in east tennessee has a great walleye fisherie and they are Big there are a few others as well what part of nc are you in

watuaga lake near Elizabethton is a real gem lots of smallmouth big lakers ,ranbows and some really big walleye

try catch and release below Lees Mccrae to the airport walk down the left side from the pond to the water treatment plant fish up to the pond
