Not sure if this post is appropriate, so if not, I'll remove it. I've lived in and around the southern tip of Lake Michigan all my life. I'd like to retire in Tennessee, North Carolina or possibly South Carolina. Looking for dockable property, with or without a house. I'd love to be able to boat year around without having to go to the deep south. Are there any hidden gems out there? Thanks for any thoughts you might have. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

High Rock Lake in central NC. First of 4 on the Yadkin River. Then Tuckertown, Badin and last Tillery. My favorite is Tillery. Don’t think any are “hidden gems” but all are great fishing lakes.

I guess it depends on how much you want to spend. Near where I live in NE TN, probably not hidden but Douglas Lake, Cherokee Lake, Tellico Lake, Ft..Loudon Lake, all have lakefront property. Lots on Douglas vary in price starting around $40k for just the property.

Welcome Redneck. I live in Strawberry Plains, 20 minutes north of Knoxville. I moved here 6 1/2 years ago from WI. I love it here for the lakes and scenery. I recently bought a boat. Nice catch.

About 3 hrs and 10 minutes from my place to yours. We may have to meet in the middle somewhere.

Welcome aboard Redneck. We have a few members below you on Tim's Ford Lake. Do an introduction post so they will see who you are. They do pretty good on that lake. And that's a nice Fish.
