Lake Jocassee on SC/NC line. Devils Fork State Park offers all you need: https://southcarolinaparks.com/devils-fork

Has great population of brown and rainbow trout, largemouth and smallmouth bass, and absolutely magnificent scenery. A gas-powered boat would probably be preferable, but rentals are nearby, as well as guides. I retired and left upstate SC nearly 20 years ago, so I haven't been there since, but it was my favorite place to fish, for both trout and bass. Hope that helps.

Checked it out ! Sounds perfect. Boat security is non existent & the only place I could find to stay is totally booked. Will keep trying to find another rental of lake...trouble is. It's run by State so probably only 1 marina has license to operate.

That sounds ideal. I would tow my 12 foot alum boat but need a cabin on lake as we live in Jax. FL. Hopefully can find one. Thanks so much for your info. My family is from Conway. N.C.! :

FORGIVE MY DELAY IN ANSWERING, PLEASE. WE DECIDED TO FISH CHATUGE MAINLY BECAUSE OF ACCOMMODATION ISSUES. I BELIEVE WE SHALL BE SATISFIED WITH A BASS OR 2, AS OUR MAIN CONCERN MAY BE JUST TO ENJOY THE LAKE, SURROUNDING VIEWS AND BEING AWAY FROM THE CARES OF TODAY'S WORLD, WHICH ARE, SADLY, THE MOST PERPLEXING OF ALL TIMES, IN MY OPINION!
TIGHT LINES TO YOU!!
