They are feeding on top water. They are not trying to get away from something like Spirit 27 said. “Need a Fly Rod” I have them doing the same to me.

What size spinning reel will you be using ? (2000, 3000, 4000 Etc.)
Need to use line wt. same as rod wt. in order to get your best cast. 5/6 line is to large to correctly work with 3/4 line guides. Hope this helps you.
