Anyone fish the Soldotna Alaska area? Hoping to go next year and enjoyed this area last time I was there and can always use ideas on favorite spots. TYhanks
Hello all, I have been to Alaska twice for salmon and loved everyt minute. My question is is anyone familiar with areas in the northwest area which have good salmon run accessable from bank or wading. Looking for silvers primarily but any salmon that pulls is fun. Thanks Ed
While reviewing other reel line loading combinations I have noticed different pound test between backing and final line or leader. My question is why is the backer line a heavier poundage then the final line or later? It would seem the lesser poundage line would be the critical factor for the set up so why not have equal poundage for each? Thanks
Do most of you all use floral carbon for leader material only or do some use whole reel full of flour o carbon? Thanks in advance. Ed
Do most people who troll for fish such as stripers have a second small motor just for trolling? Thank you
I have always used left-handed spinning reels and just this year changed to left handed bait caster. It seems natural to me holding rod with right hand and retrieving with my left hand. I am right handed dominant.I have noticed in sporting good stores left handed bait casters are a rarity.
Thanks to everyone for their experience and wisdom good fishing.
Hello,I was wondering how many of you all use line lubricant and if you get a noticeable increase in casting distance? Thanks
Thanks guys, I will be bank fishing on the Kenai River in Soldotna Alaska primarily for silver salmon. I did get power and action intermixed. i planned to be lure fishing with spinning combo. Thanks again.
What do most of you guys think is the best size and brand fishing rod? I would like to know the action andSpeed of rod for handling 1/2 ounce to 1 ounce lures thank you
I am looking for a good brand of polarized clip on fishing lenses preferably in the amber color. Any suggestions would be welcomed. Thankyou Ed
Hello all, I am hoping to retire soon and purchase a bass boat. I am thinking something like a 16-17 ft. Tracker with 50hp motor. My question is the best type of hull such as deep-v or slight -v for fishing larger lakes in Ky. such as Cumberland and KY lakes. I am just a hobbiest fisherman so I would not be in foul weather but would like to feel secure if there was a little chop. I would appreciate the pros and cons of hull types. Thanks Ed
