Do most of you all use floral carbon for leader material only or do some use whole reel full of flour o carbon? Thanks in advance. Ed

Fluoro has a lot of memory, which makes it a little less optimal as a spool filler. At least in my experience. I use Fluoro as a leader, not as a main line. Seems to work well. Others may disagree, and maybe it depends on the brand, but that's how I use Fluoro, generally as a leader to my braided main line.

I agree with GLA, fluoro for a leader only!

I agree with GLA. Great as a leader, too expensive for main line. I’ve heard of people who do use it as main line. I guess on smaller reels. I have close to 300 yards of braid on my reels. A lot of guys will use 100 yards of mono backer, then the braid and then 30 or more inches of fluorocarbon leader.

A few yeare ago I went to Canada fishing and put fluoro on all of my reels because that is what the "pros" said was the line of the future. Nearly ruined a week of fishing because the line memory made things un-fishable. My buddy had some braid and I restrung enough to fish the week. Now I only use Fluoro only for leader.

In southern Indiana and midwest i use flouro on bait casters when jigging . braid always on spinning reels with flouro leader. Mono on crank bait bait casters. Braid for pike and musky in the north.

Alot does depend on the brand. Some is much stiffer than others.
