Hello,I was wondering how many of you all use line lubricant and if you get a noticeable increase in casting distance? Thanks

Personally never use the stuff. However, some on here have and they had good things to say bout it. SO, the sayin is," Don't knock it till you try it."

I use Reel Magic on my spinning reels spools/line with mono, mainly to reduce memory. It helps some. Definitely get longer smoother casts Have no reason to suspect fish don't like it, but who knows. Sometimes fish two rods live lining live baits and haven't noticed any difference with and without line dressing

I like Real Magic as well. I do notice the difference. I fish mostly fluro and have compared using and not using real magic and have found that with
the quality of my fluro last longer and is silkier off the spool over time. I believe it does minimize the abrasion/resistance that occurs naturally from the line contacting the spool and the guides. I started using it about 1-2 years ago and haven't looked back as a result.

Love real magic on my spinning setups, I sincerely think it makes a difference with mono and fluro. Never used it on braid which I have on my baitcasters. It does puzzle me however, why didn’t they name their product “reel magic”?

I lube and clean my fly line once a year, in the spring before I start fishing, which is in March. I think it helps the line last longer and I can get a longer cast out of it. The longer the cast the more fish you catch. My thought only.

I've been using line lube for yrs. I think it keeps the line slick n supple. Helps keep twist out. I've used it on braid not sure if it helps but doesn't hurt.

I used to use Real Magic b/c that's what was readily available. I mostly had mono and fluoro spooled up at the time and it did resolve memory issues as advertised. Then read in a few places it's basically WD-40 (silicone) in a petroleum based carrier that over time would degrade the line. I switched to KVD Line & Lure which is a polymer blend that fuses with rather than just coating the line and lasts longer than silicone oil. It contains no oils or solvents that can build up and collect dirt. It reduces memory issues on my mono and fluoro reels like Real Magic did but without the nasty side effects of the carrier and on braid, which are on the majority of my reels, I get better casting distance and the occasional backlash is easier to untangle b/c the line is more slippery.

Dc i never change line until i have to.I never notice any break down because of lube. Ain't saying it won't just that I've never had a problem. 👍

I’ve not noticed any degradation with real magic but will give the KVD a try and see if it makes any difference.

I've never even heard anyone mention this before... I'm thinking that I'm gonna "Google UP" some of that... If it helps put more fish on ice, with less cost and/or aggravation; I'm all for it.

Maybe I should try it. It might improve the amount of fish I catch.

I have a glare on it but It's good for numerous things. 1st time out this yr i notice distance was off n line kinda curly. Sprayed everything n in a few cast noticed the distance improved. As for catching i wouldn't make that claim. Would give me n excuse 😂😂

Thanks Forest. I’ve never thought about line lube and after reading the replies, I now know it works and I’ll try it. 🤔
