For all interested, I will be launching my boat, "The Owe Nada" from the clear lake camp ground-- I plan to have lots of lake time and have room for 2 more on board-- I also have ambitions of a couple of night excursions, and staying out, catfisheees--
Anyone interested, I'll be at the campground around 9am Friday-
Let me know-----

Ok Stagers, only 17 days left before the Meet & Greet in Clearlake,if you are interested in going but have not made a reservation, the info will be at the end of this post, please keep in mind that you are on your own as far as food goes, you are responsible for all your own meals and drinks, there are not as many boats being brought up this year,so Google map the lake area and be prepared to do bank or dock fishing, there are many places to rent a boat if you so desire, but look into it now as they may all be rented out by the time our get together happens ,there will be no raffles or Bass Cards as there was no interest in buying t shirts which would’ve paid for them,I will be handing out truck decals if you’d like one,if so ask me when you see me,1 per person please, other than that, get your gear in order and make sure you are good to go,if anything goes wrong for you Walmart is only 5 minutes away, make your reservation now if you haven’t yet, keep an eye on the weather in Clearlake so you are prepared,it is projected to be mid to upper 70’s to low 80’s,I am looking forward to another fun weekend of fishing and meeting new Stagers!
For booking: campclearlake.com
There will be a section for comments, put down you are with the Meet&Greet and Lisa will try to put you with the group, and Lisa is the owner/contact person

Left the house at 4:30 and headed down to Neptune City, NJ to fish the Raritan bay with the boys. Water temperature was 50* and bunker were tough to find in numbers, the schools scattered but we eventually got a few. Threw 9” paddle tails while hunting for bunker and even trolled to no avail, they wanted bunker only. Had a lot of fish that would pick up the offering, run for a bit but then drop the bait without committing. Landed 13 bass between the 3 of us and lost quite a few. Ben got the largest at 33# with Gregg a close second and dad mopped up the rear. I did lose a really good one boat side guessed at 35#. Really wanted to take one home but all were over the slot of 28-31.” Day started slow but ended up quite well. Fun time with the boys.

Fingers crossed! Fishing with Matt on Fri and Sat, then with Denny and Ben on Sunday. Looking forward to meeting your son. Maybe a little side bet between the two boats??

Nope, you have Matt on the boat, that’s my fishing partner,I know exactly what he’s capable of,I’d be down with like heaviest fish? We will work something out for fun🎣

Going pretty well, catching a lot of fish but most all are small and just a couple of decent ones. Yes indeed, looking forward to seeing you and the others and getting some bigger fish this year at the M&G. Hope the weather is better this time!

That is one reason why I pushed the date back for the event, this particular time last year they had average temperatures of 80° so I’m hoping for better weather as well

After our frost melted, I headed out to Beseck for a few hours. 44° at the ramp @ 10am, and the water temperature was 56.8°. Only a light breeze when I launched, but it picked up on and off all day. Most of my Bass spots were vacant but I caught a 2lb2oz Largemouth near the dam after an hour of looking. I checked the shallow end of the lake but saw no signs of beds. The warmest water I found was 59.5°. I fished docks all around the lake with no luck, but did catch a 1lb2oz buck on a blowdown. There were clouds of algae streaking the water, about 1-2 feet deep, all around the lake. Kinda unusual for this lake. It was an enjoyable day, and the trees around the lake are ahead of the one's at my house, so maybe spring is actually gonna happen. 🤣

After an hour drive the boat would not start. Pulled it out and tried for about 10 minutes. Finely got it running and headed out of Blacks Fish Camp to catch some catfish. Well the white caps were coming over the bow so I headed back to the landing like a whipped puppy. Didn't give up. Loaded the boat and went to the hatchery where the wind was blocked by the trees. Got 5,but it took about an Hour and a half. Picked up and went in the stump field in 3 1/2 ft. of water. Got much better. Caught 11 more in an hour. Went to pick up the back anchor and it was stuck under a stump. Tried everything but it was not budging. Tied a buoy to it and tossed it over so I could get the bow anchor lose and had the same problem. Took awhile but got both in the boat and went home to clean fish. Yes I did enjoy the trip. Here are some pics.

Hit Red Cross launch today , lost a pig fairly early and these came once I found them all fairly close together. Wind blew me into a log and it caught my net and ripped a pretty big hole in it , but I stopped and sewed it together with some braid and a paperclip . Just in time for the ones I caught. The water temp was at 55° when I started by 2 pm it was 68° I take the temp about a foot deep. 🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸🇺🇲🇺🇲🙏

You are still killing it with the frogs, nice fish🎣

Went fishing in Manasquan Inlet this afternoon on a cold, sunny day with a nor’easter small craft advisory and incoming tide. Ocean was very rough with no surfers. Few boats were on the water and few fishermen were on the jetty. Two spear fishermen shot 3 blackfish and a striped bass. Oystercatchers, osprey, loons, cormorants and gulls were nearby. A seal pup was sleeping on the beach when I arrived and still there when I left. I reported it to the Marine Mammal Stranding Center in Brigantine, NJ. Caught, tagged and released 2 30” bluefish to 9 lbs with a very old #2 stainless steel Japanese metal squid during the early bite. Many big blues were caught over the fence. I took lots of photos.
