Hit Red Cross launch today , lost a pig fairly early and these came once I found them all fairly close together. Wind blew me into a log and it caught my net and ripped a pretty big hole in it , but I stopped and sewed it together with some braid and a paperclip . Just in time for the ones I caught. The water temp was at 55Β° when I started by 2 pm it was 68Β° I take the temp about a foot deep. πŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ™

Looks like you still faired well with some nice catches there Andy after having to sew your net.

I keep wire ties on board so remind me to give you some for exactly what you sewed when we get together in June.

Nice job Andy. That's a huge jump in temperature, must have been a strong sun day. Glad to see your success is continuing. πŸ‘πŸ»

Nice bass andys, our water temps are still in the low 60’s, no spawning activity from the crappies or gills yet.

Nice bass Andy, you’ll catch the big one you missed sooner or later. Lake water temp here this week was 57.

The area I'm fishing today is average 3-4' deep and the water is stained which helps it warm up faster. The pads are really starting to clump up and that's what I want little patches will hold fish . I understand about the unintentional temp. mistake , you were probably thinking about catching all those fish you've been on. Darn if we don't have more days of rain and high winds. These winds have been brutal this year so far. We do what we can. As far as getting out fishing more often ?? " Who invented mowing the grass?" This seems to take up valuable fishn' timeπŸ€”πŸ€”πŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ™

The goofy part is we feed it every spring so that it grows and keeps us from going fishing when we want to.

Thanks Kandydisbar; These are all just good solid mid 2#fish. I got the camera mount readied today, put a good patch sewing job on the net with some doubled up 50# braid it was about a 8" tear!! , good to go now as soon as the wind slows down to under 12 mph. Put all the other panfish gear up for the summer. Now it's just frogs, sm, med, and large for my setup. It's on now trying to break 7#s this year my PB. Good luck to everyone this season and see some at the Eagle M&G it's coming quickπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ™

Thanks Fred, sorry I'm slow getting back to your response. Got really busy around here and gotta get some things ready to not be bothered with once the WIND decides to stop blowing so hard, excited to start a new frogn' season. Red Cross is not very deep 3-4feet and between a mud bottom and really stained water it works like a heat sink and my thermometer is a pool thermometer that I just throw over the side on a leash and it go's about a foot down. This upper end is also polluted with carp and the whole top of the water moves when I spook a batch. They've already started jumping and scaring the daylights out of me. It'll be good to get past them and the Cottonwood crap that's coming in the next few weeks. Makes a mess with my micro eyes and I'm constantly picking it out of the braid. Stuff is tough as all get-out once it gets wet. By then the pads will be well established and it's game time, if the WIND slows. See ya soon at the Eagle my friendπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡²πŸ™
