Smitchell, you live in Tennessee and in your area y'all cut you teeth on a butt stock of a rifle, like my dad was from Kentucky and mom from Tennessee but moved to Florida and I was born a few months after that's why I tell everyone that I was in the oven on the way down. I was raised with a gun in my hand, but here in Florida not many people wants to teach the kids how to use a gun and that's the problem when they find Dad's gun they don't know how to handle it and end up killing them self or someone else... that's what I'm saying to carry nowadays they should have to take a class to know how to use it, that's just my opinion πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
Smitchell, you live in Tennessee and in your area ... (show quote)

FLA has had a carry law on the books for years, just because they do away with paying for a permit, doesn't mean anything is going to change. I have my card here in Tennessee which allows me to travel to other states we have reciprocity with. We also have Constitutional Carry you that you don't have to pay for if you only want to carry within the state. You are making an assumption about the people there in Florida. As for the boating part of this, here in Tennessee we had our law amended so that we can carry on a boat several years ago. Still no issues and none of the "end of life as we know it" issues we were told was going to happen. Same things were said up in Ohio who, like FLA had a carry permit system for years. When they went to Constitutional Carry, you would have thought someone was going to murder puppies in the streets the way the Left carried on. The law went into effect a year ago and no issues.

Same old tired argument. Everytime constitutional carry comes up, it's the same hyperbole from the Left. Things like blood in the streets and children will suffer and the only thing that does happen is the crime rates seems to drop. 27 States now have constitutional carry and yet none of what you speak has come true.

Many times l have had jet skis and power boats towing people on inner tubes find me in a back water and start doing donuts and almost swamping me. Last week I was on a Tennessee lake and the same type of morons started doing donuts just off the boat ramp. The wind picked up and it was making it tough to load my boat on the trailer when the idiots started swamping the boat ramp.

Couple friends of mine fished a Cherokee tournament Friday and caught one fish. Would not be unusual for me, but these guys can fish.

It's just a tad early yet for the Bass there. A week or two and they should start hitting good.

In the upper part of the lake up to the John Sevier Dam in the Holston, I heard the cats are hitting.

You have to remember that most of the lakes in Tennessee are man made and there isn't a lot of cover for the fish along the shore... especially since they drop the lake levels down 20 to 30 feet in the winter. Boats are the way to go to fish the docks and areas where trees have fallen in.

The air temp was in the 80s today and will be the same tomorrow, so the water temp is coming up. I heard that the water temp is in the 60s.

Check Bass Pro out. I have their super jumbo bag I have had for 3 seasons now that shows no wear. Out of that same line they have back packs made of the same tough material.

I live next door in Church Hill. If you are without a boat, go down to the river...lots of catfish and small mouth in it. The park behind the Food City store in Church Hill you will find a lot of shore fisherman. If you have a boat, drag it past Rogersville on 11W to the TVA Quarryville boat ramp and check out Cherokee. In the spring and fall, I like to fish the area around the 11W bridge over Poor Valley Creek from my boat.

It's mostly bass fishing on the lake. Any of the artificial baits will work depending on conditions and where you are on the lake. Shiners work just as well under the docks or along bridge abutments using a drop shot rigs. You are further down the lake than me. I fish the Poor Valley Creek area mostly.
