I currently live in Surgoinsville, TN and have just started fishing. Just looking for some ideas as to where to go whether on the river or Cherokee lake and what’s the best lures and colors to use. Thanks.

You could send a PM to ghaynes1 if you don't hear from him. He lives in Strawberry Plaines just south west of Cherokee Lake. Good luck

I live next door in Church Hill. If you are without a boat, go down to the river...lots of catfish and small mouth in it. The park behind the Food City store in Church Hill you will find a lot of shore fisherman. If you have a boat, drag it past Rogersville on 11W to the TVA Quarryville boat ramp and check out Cherokee. In the spring and fall, I like to fish the area around the 11W bridge over Poor Valley Creek from my boat.

A wacky worm is always a good bait to try and easy to learn to fish. Lots of you tube videos on it. I fish the Watts Bar area so I can't help with Cherokee, sorry.
