Pig Bull Reds under WB bridge 27" and 30" at WB last month with at least 3 that hit like freight trains and broke off before spooling me (nay have been black drum or sharks. Caught a 36" Bull from Laguna Bch also. Plus about 10+ Bluefish from Laguna Bch ranging from 16-22". Good cut bait too- super carnivorous lolol. :)
Are you fishing from the surf or in a boat off the beach? I just moved here and not much action surf fishing so far.
Caught several rods, but most unusual was an electric waffle iron in the Potomac River near the old Wilson bridge.
Decent surf fishing at Huntington Beach State Park, plenty of room away from the crowds. Fresh shrimp is good for whiting, pompano, redfish, blues, and others. When the mullet bait are running in the surf, try to net some live ones to catch redfish, spanish mackerel, trout, or flounder.
I don't believe that part of the ICW is open to legal crabbing - it's considered fresh water.
Anyone catching any fish surf fishing around Garden City/Murrells Inlet SC? It's been extremely slow the past weeks, and there's been a large vessel with 3 smaller tug type vessels about 1 mile off the beach the past three weeks. Wonder if there's any relationship?
How far out is the ledge?
Fished outgoing tide at Huntington Beach State Park yesterday. Several stingrays, a small puffer, and one nice 15" whiting. Water still felt cold, but should start warming up soon.
Aquaseal, available at Bass Pro Shops, not too expensive.
