We were camping fishing in the Allagash wilderness water way , ranger came into are camp to collect camp fees , told us are camp was a mess mostly beer cans we told him when we leave it will be as clean as we found it. he said I’m not the type of guy to write you a fine , im the type of guy that woul drive 200 hundred miles and dump it on your front lawn , we left the site spic and span we had no intention of leaving it a mess. To me thats a pretty good law officer

Just to be clear 2hr before low tide and 2 hr after. Use shrimp or squid. I have never caught anything on mullet. I have always cast just beyond where the waves break. Most of the time I catch croaker, whiting, rays(they eat) but mostly throw them back, sandsharks(eat them).

Bank wheights don’t hold the bottom in the surf pyramids do , that’s important depending on rip tides and how high the surf is will determine what weight to use, less weight when calm more when not 2 oz 4 oz usually works . If you need 5 or 6 oz probably best to go home, one other thing can’t speak for all the beeches but nighttime is typically better than daytime

Yeah I usually use 20 with a 80lb shock leader because their gills in the hooks and stuff would break the line I forgot about the shock leader very important

One of the reasons for a longer pole is so you’re line enters the water behind the breakers, distance isn’t as important as you think.if you can’t afford a new pole try a taller sand spike and get closer to the surf ,hip waders will help keep you dry, medium action will work fine might take a little longer to bring in a big fish but so what thats half the fun

From the cornwall bridge to rt4 is fly fishing only they stock it with nice brown trout, from rt4 to kent any thing goes so I guess we’ll be doing both . I use a little wet fly that looks like a crayfish, works all the time on small mouth sometimes on browns

What dory man said , I make my own 4oz sinkers save scrap lead from old chlmneys look around were you live if the chimneys are gray at the bottom its lead . You can find at a lumber yard pay by the pound . When you melt it down all impurities will float to the top skim them of with a steel spoon then your good to go.

I don’t like pier fishing to many idiots, having said that I would go the day before have a look around , annd pay attention to who is catching fish the end of the pier is not nesesarly the best spot.most fishermen will help you out . Especially if there buddy owns the tackle shop a good shop will set you up with what you need and only what you need remember they want you to come back. Pay attention to tides , sun up sun down
