Keep us posted on the bite. What are u fishing for? Good luck!!
We have had the same experience for last several years, however, still one of my favorite lakes. Going back again this year…hope to see you there.
Eat it. White meat, flaky, mild flavor, watch the bones...delicious! Same w/Asian carp. Happy eating!

Does anyone know how to stop getting snags when fishing and how to get out of a snag if I do get in one?

Using lures, try a lure knock. Mine is "Golden Retriever" and saved $100's between 2 of us in 2-3 yrs El Salto.
Zebco 33, could you google it??
Depends on where you live. If he/she area forecaster is pretty accurate roll with it. If not, find anther outing just in case. One thing I learned VERY LONG ago, pack for whatever, friends laughed, if tide turns, you're prepared...all that matters and be sure to inform guests!! My personal cutoff for boating is 15mph, rain no object w/no lightening...be prepared.
Funny, not long ago every thing from China was, what I’ll call, inexpensive. How things have changed.
Yes you did you sly devil. Have you tried yellow magic poppers?
Another poster said $2-3. Mine were about $20+ or -. Other poster post is just above mine.
Never paid $2-3 for one, a tad more, but THEY WORK. Favorites have been bone and white. Good luck
What I’ve read, quality of bearings is more important than number of bearings. Never figured that out, so, what I do is stick with quality brand names and when I can compare handle smoothness. I’ve been pleased with “all” my reels. Maybe someone else has a better method.
Nice rig. Interested in Skeeter zx200, w/Yamaha 200? Low hrs.
Thought was replying to a rod configuration not a reel, sorry.
Seems that would reduce casting distance. More line friction, less distance.
