There are sturgeon in the Mare Island straight as well. Fishing from pier you can rig a balloon allowing it to flow with the tide. Once the rig gets to preferred location jerk off the balloon
On out going tide I’ve had great luck about 250 yards out on the Vallejo side

Might be a little out of your way but Salmon fishing at the Barge Hole(cottonwood Ca) has been on fire. Lots of big salmon. A bit dark for eating but I’ve seen some that are still ok. I’ve had great luck with kastmasters 3/4 oz
