Got out to R.F.P this morning at 6:45 hiked out to the back area of the south lake, first cast bite! I set the hook and I miss it! So the very next cast same thing! After the fourth bite I finally get the hook set and catch the first one! After catching one more in the back area I decided to hike to the other side of the lake. After about 15 cast I catch my third fish! Kept casting into the trees catching 3 more Bass! Had a blast this morning! Hiked back to my car at 11:30. Caught all 6 fish on a finesse Senko! It was 42 degrees in the morning and 70 degrees when I left the lake. Good luck and be safe!!

Glad to hear you two got out together, too bad the stripers did not co-operate. Nice to get out for the day, been long winter so far and more to come. I am in Albany Oregon visiting sister, we are going striper fishing on the lower Umqua river on April 4th! Will send pics if we get any, river quite high and lots of rain predicted next week!

I know there are a lot of cooks on here so would like advice on why I’m having trouble with bisquick does not make good dumplings does it loose the yeast if left in refrigerator to long or does the cold kill the yeast my dumplings are like row in the middle and never get fluffy I boiled them like the recipe says 20 minutes top off 10 minutes top on but raw in middle and not fluffy

I remember when my dad made bisquick dumblings on the stew, it was 20 min with the lid on then 15 at least with the lid off. Should clear the raw in the middle. Good luck and tight lines!

Nice find Nook! The ones with the plastic bill are "Rapala" rebels, the flat tail ones are "Bombers", the red/white one is "Luckey 13", I fishied with all of those back in the late 50's early 60's in my uncles resiviour on the dairy in Penngrove, California. Did not have a good rod or reel, but caught a few bass with them, only place to fish as I could walk there from home, spent many fine summer afternoons dragging those lures in hopes of catching a bass or two. Thanks for sharing, and I never caught any bass on the frilly spinner, ones tho I had one! Great memories tho!

Some kids fishing with their grandpa on the Petaluma have been catching some stripers on ghost shrimp, another fellow caught a great sturgeon in the lower river this week. Bait seems to be the only way to catch them just now.

Wow, great choice for your cousin, mouth dripping with envy, North River makes one badass boat for sure. Friend of mine has a 24, loves it, fishes Salmon in the ocean and Halibut in SF bay, great boat. Thanks for sharing.

Nice smallies sir, thanks for sharing. The birdbrain with all caps can be disbanded, we do not need the bad attitude here, this forum is for fishermen and fisherwomen, not sarcastic birdbrains.

Retired.... looking for places to fish for small mouth bass, strippers, catfish and salmon....

The Umpqua river is loaded with small mouth bass, been out with guide Jody Smith from Elkton, caught over 50 fish, all catch and release. You are in a wonderful area for fishing! Also stripers in the lower river near the mouth. Dont know about strippers tho! Tight lines, good luck.
