You don't have to be a resident of okla to fish without a license but must be 65 or older.

I still love my Zebco Bullet….

That Bullet Zebco is the best Zebco reel I have ever used. Been using Zebcos since my cane pole days. Back when I was using only Zebcos I would have never have thought that I $100.00 for a Zebco reel. You are right that Bullet is one fine reel. EB

That's right folks. Today marks 55 years. She is the best of my life and can out fish me any day of the year. Have had beg her to go back to shore or home. She always gets the money for the first, the biggest, and the most. It's a standing bet when fishing with any one in this family. Couldn't ask for a better fishing partner. Love you Mittie!

Audigger is right about getting one that feels good in your hand. If you're going to just cast n wait it's not that important. If you're going to make many casts during an outting then it's very important. I wouldn't get the 202. I had a few yrs ago n lvd em. Got one for grandson when he started. The 202 was junk. I still have a half dz 33's.

The 33s are by far the better reels

Net knots is a pretty good online source as well as knots by gorg. Good animations of how to tie whatever you desire.

www.Pro-Knots.com is a great tool for learning fish knot tying. Remember that bad knots are a major cause for the loss of large fish. It does take time and practice to learn to tie the knots correctly but you will never regret learning how to do so.

I have a few baitcasters, all Lews.

- Hypermag

- Team Lews Lite

- Mach 1 something

They all function great, smooth as hell. I recently found out that they are made by a 3rd party who also makes super BS reels, I did not like the sound of it, though I am aware this does not inherently imply lesser quality.

If I were to switch to something like the Shimano Chronarch or the Daiwa Tatula Elite, would I actually notice a difference? These reels perform every function seemingly perfect, so what am I missing by using these instead of what everyone recommends?

I know people bash the hell out of Lews, and I can understand it based on the fact described above about where/how they are produced. If I spend ~250 on a Chronarch, for instance, will I suddenly realize what everyone is talking about?

For reference, I use my Hypermag every single day, with a Mojo Bass medium fast

Sounds like you are trying to fix what's not broken.
