Well, it’s Friday morning, we’re still planning on making the trip but there was a lot of rain overnight there and the water is up several feet, hopefully it goes down enough for tomorrow and the trout are stocked. I’ll keep you posted

Good morning all, what a great day to start March. I’m heading down to Bennett Spring this weekend for some trout fishing. The weather looks a little rough for Friday but the rest looks pretty good. I’ll keep you all posted and will send pics if we get anything. Have a great day and God Bless you all.

Haha, I’ve lost several higher dollar lures myself over the years. At Busch I fished a lot of the lakes, my favorite are 3,6 and 21 but I have caught several nice 3,4 + out of all of them. Few years back I got a 7+ lb out of 3. I fish up at Whiteside, north of Troy, with a little jonboat, I like that lake.

Hey guys I'm from the same area. I'm not much of a fisherman but my 6 year old son loves it so I fish. But I'm so bad at it I think my son is losing interest from not catching fish. I don't know if I will forgive myself if I am the cause of it. Any advice on local spots, times of day, anything that will help me help him I will truly be grateful for!

Can’t go wrong with using worms and a bobber to catch bluegill. I fished a lot over a Busch Wildlife area, mainly mornings. I’ve never fished at LSL, I don’t have an access pass, so I can’t really help you with spots over there.

I’ve been up to Bowling Green reservoir a cpl of times with little luck. I’ve had good luck in Silex, I wouldn’t say huge ones but have had numbers. I’ve never fished at Truman.

Hey Rvercher, welcome to the forum. I also live in WENTZVILLE, MO. so not far from you. I fish a lot of conservation lakes around the area, I fish at LOZ some too.

Has anyone had any experience with Temple Fork Outfitter rods? I’m looking at 7’ ultralight trout panfish rod. Been doing some trout fishing last few years and I have a cpl ultralights but looking into something little nicer. I saw a cpl advertisements in some of the bigger stores, did a little research on YouTube, watched a video on how they’re made. Just want some first hand information if anyone has one, tried one, good or bad?

Congratulations Eye, happy to see you got something, nice looking fish. I guess when living and fishing there a lot, that helps a lot on getting to know specific techniques of that lakes. I know it’s fished a lot.

I love bass fishing, I fish a few tournaments each year, I like just walking around ponds or getting out in a jonboat on conservation lakes. I find that I prefer more of a finesse type fishing rather than a faster pace. I’ve had guys fish with me in tournaments as coanglers, fishing out in the open water, that do the crankbaits, spinners, jerk baits while I get up in the junk and behind docks, we do pretty good, But when I’m the coangler and boat owner is the faster pace, I find that we don’t do as well. I’ll burn a rattletrap or spinner from time to time, even slow roll a 12” worm, but I really prefer finesse with senkos, craws, bugs, poppers.

You put it on the same direction your reel turns, when hold your gear and cranking the handle, if the bail turns clockwise, turn the spool so the line peels off clockwise. I also was told the when using a spooling station, turn the spool so the line comes off the bottom. And with all that being said, the real only way you will ever not have any twists is to completely unspool your line and have it all laid out straight when respooling, so it untwists when putting it on. Your reel and the spools are 2 different sizes, you can hardly ever get a twist out.

On a spinning reel, most of the time the handles can be changed from left or right, will that handle change over? Maybe you can get yourself a new to you combo.
