They say they can do what they want if it’s legal but from the way they talk I’ll bet they’ve skirted regulations when they could. I’m sure they care more about themselves than being good stewards of the natural resources the Lord gave us. I’m glad they don’t fish where I do like you said .

I don’t fish for smallies or largemouth when they’re spawning. Never said I did. I have caught them while fishing for other game fish. And release them right away, Ace.

I agree with not liking smallies being kept especially with big fat spawn filled bellies. To my knowledge most smallie waters have a hard time keeping a vibrant population. For this reason I never keep smallies with spawn bellies. Even during the regular part of the year I keep smallies only once or twice a year. They’re just such an admirable fish , such great fighters. I’d like to see them live and prosper rather than get kept. Most guys I know never keep them.

Hello and welcome. I’ve fished the Wisconsin river below the Dells dam down to almost Portage since I was a kid. Also lakes in the area. Now I mostly go up north of Green Bay to fish the Menominee river and Lake Noquebay in Marinette county plus the Peshtigo river and the flowages like Hig Fall, Cauldron, Sanstone, and below the dams too.

No, but I did fish the bayou off the Grand River when I visited a friend in Grand Haven a few times. I’m up for fishing for walleyes in your area as I’m from Downers Grove, IL. which is a two hour drive at most. My buddy Jim is probably going to be going pretty soon. We’re going to be moving soon so my immediate plans for fishing have been placed on hold. I’ll let ya know when I get freed up. Ya know what a joy moving is haha. Hank
