I wanted to start a specific area to talk about Wisconsin Fishing. From trout streams to musky; from walk along streams to bigger Wisconsin lakes. Early entries could address:
Where to go and how to get started trout fishing Wisconsin
Spring tactics for walleyes
Spring tactics for crappy
Spring musky
or anything that you are interested in asking or sharing about Wisconsin fishing.
Good idea. I live in southeastern Wisconsin and fish all over the state.

Welcome to the Forum, OMR, you are asking for a bunch, good luck.
Indeed, I love fishing but the general input was hitting so many things that don't apply to my area. Trying to get a local discussion going.

This is an International forum, with over 20,000 members, with just a few from the Badger State, or should I say Packer State? I'm not aware of any local forums in your area. You could start one, but the interest must be there. Trout fishermen are good about sharing, but walleye fishermen, forget it. It won't happen.
OMR, I know others can figure out how to UNWATCH topics such as this, but perhaps this may be better suited for PMs as we don’t want to brag, nor attract any more outsiders (like Flyguy...jeez). 😉 Our out of state licenses are too cheap to keep them out to begin with 😂
I hope you know I am kidding Fly! You are welcome anytime along with the rest of the Stagers.
Where in Central WI are you from?
I'm from Wisconsin Rapids but my in-laws have tar paper shacks on Lake Nokomis near Tomahawk. Lot of lakes around that area.

Hi Old Man River, I live in Washington County and would be interested it this subject. Members here mostly ignore what does not interest them. We can post here unless you want to start your own forum.

I’m from Central Wisconsin so may be able to contribute
have a place on squash lake in between tomahawk and Rhinelander.going up in a couple weeks.going to give hat rapids a try.
Hey OMR,
I’ve fished southern Wisconsin most of my life especially the Wisconsin river. I’ll take part in your group. Hank.
Have a cabin north of Prarie Du Chien, fish mostly Dubuque to Lacrosse . Prarie is home base. Will answer PM's if possible .
LIving in Wisconsin Rapids and cottages in Tomahawk. I was a musky addict for years. I'm now rediscovering my roots and fishing for food and other species. Started some trout fishing with my son at some small creeks in our area. Is there anywhere more open to learn flyfishing you know of? Also, on the other front, hoping to figure out walleyes more. We catch them accidentally once in a while. Tips fellow Badgers for this spring.

Cool, looking forward to this. I am in Milwaukee County, but fish the WI River quite a bit as well as NE WI lakes and Flowages in Florence County.

I am hoping to learn more about the Petenwell Flowage this year as we have friends who just retired to the Big Flats area. Everything that swims in freshwater should be available there...except perhaps paddlefish?
