Welcome to the site! I am from lower northeastern Michigan. I fish for walleyes a fair amount with my son in law. We just came back from Little Bay De Noc. We spent the weekend and caught a few perch, a small pike and a 28 inch walleye. Lost a couple as well. This was in spite of bad weather. Good luck with your fishing this year!

By the way, I also fish the AuSable River mouth in late April into May for walleyes. It doesn't compare to the Detroit River but there are a fair number of eyes there in spring for their annual spawning run.

No, but I did fish the bayou off the Grand River when I visited a friend in Grand Haven a few times. I’m up for fishing for walleyes in your area as I’m from Downers Grove, IL. which is a two hour drive at most. My buddy Jim is probably going to be going pretty soon. We’re going to be moving soon so my immediate plans for fishing have been placed on hold. I’ll let ya know when I get freed up. Ya know what a joy moving is haha. Hank

Welcome Kirk I To and from West Michigan there is some decent walleye fishing in the Muskegon Lake most of the guys do well fishing night sadly your best walleye fishing is the east side of the state in Lake Erie in the Detroit River but I do know they have walleye tournaments on Muskegon and white lake which is just north of grand Haven
