I was out at Windsor Bay yesterday morning in my kayak. Lots of birds. I caught 5 small stripers. No keepers. I was using a Storm 4" Wild Eye Swim Shad. Caught 1 on a surface popper.

I did catch another eight stripers this morning including my biggest fish of the week which had to been close to 4 lb. But they sure run in schools and action will be hot for 5 or 10 minutes and then they disappear. I like to anchor my kayak in spots as the wind moves me around but you do need to keep moving as the fish are moving.

There is a 10 fish limit on stripers.

The Hobie would be easier for bass fishing. It would also let you hold in a light head wind. I might have been better off with propeller drive with full rotation rather than the back and forth but there was a large weight difference. The Hobie hull weighs 67 lbs. Most of the others were heavier.

I am 82 and live at Lake Havasu AZ. I like to troll for stripers from a kayak using artificial lures. I recently bought a Hobie Passport 12 because they look like good hands free fishing platforms. I did catch 6 stripers from it but it is not really working out for me. I have been paddling for over 30 years and peddling is not cutting it. Too much effort for the speed and distance. Great fishing platform though. Would be fantastic for trout or kokanee where you have to let your line out while moving and keep your speed down. Magic number for kokanee was 1.2 mph. Stripers are 2.5-3 mph. The Hobie is short and fat while my fishing kayak is long and skinny. 15.5'x25" makes it a lot more efficient. Both very close in weight.
Am I doing something wrong? I am ready to sell the Hobie at this point.

I am in Havasu and they lie about the temp. It was 115+ yesterday around 5PM. I hit the lake about 6AM and off at 8:30. I let the wife sleep too long. I wanted to be on the lake at 5:30 or sooner. Caught 4 stripers. I am carrying a cooler and ice on the kayak for the fish. Water temp is 83+. Right now 10:53AM it is 105.

A friend used to smoke carp. He would hand it out and not tell anyone what it was and it was pretty good. Most people wanted more.

Fishing on the American River for steelhead with barbless hooks I would have gotten a ticket with flattened barbs. F&G used a cotton swab to check for any barb.

Catch and release bass is being promoted by the tournament people. More fish to catch for them. Bass are good eating but I send the oversized ones back. 1-3 lbs are better eating.

No damage on box sounds like someone did not seal the lids. I doubt UPS will pay up.

Harbor Freight has a small trailer that can be modified. Get a piece of channel or aluminum square tube the correct size for the hitch the same length as your boat to replace the tongue. 2/3 in front of the axle 1/3 behind the axle. Roller on the tail. Bunks or saddles for the boat. Use a piece of angle iron/aluminum on the back to mount the tail lights and plate.

I have a stainless ring on my trolley lines. I loop the anchor line through the trolley ring and quick cleat it. Easy to adjust. I keep a float on the dead end. I have had to dump an anchor in a hurry. The loop and cleat will dump it fast and the float saves the line. The float is a piece of pool noodle with a piece of PVC pipe in it. I wrap the anchor line around it.

Lucas, the prince of darkness. The English like warm beer because Lucas built their refrigerator's. It may be a good product but I have had experiences with Lucas electrical systems and the name gives me hesitation.
