I'm 86 years old and have had great luck with hearing aids from Costco.
They have given me excellent advice and service for two decades.
I have tinnitus every waking hour and frequent bouts with vertigo.
I've found that taking seasick pills like bromine or dramamine stops the
vertigo. Expensive hearing aids have not helped my ringing ears.
Watermelon green Senko. Live waterdog (larval salamander).
Paddletail down. A steady retrieve works best for me and is generally
recommended by "pros".
I've tried all sorts of fancy knots and settled on the Trilene knot for
all braid and fluoro mainline knots and the double uni for splicing lines.
I wager the owl didn't forget it, either!
Had a Great Horned owl sweep down and grab a Jitterbug while night fishing
in the dark. Fought it in the sky for two minutes before it broke the line.
Fish Lake by Lake Wenatchee has dock fishing for perch and the
occasional trout. There's also boat rental. Good bass fishing there.
If you are fishing with bait (herring, anchovies), don't set the hook when
the fish bites -- just start reeling. Salmon have a tendency to mouth, or chew,
on the bait before they take it in their mouths.

Thanks, jonlmac.
I fished the Umpqua and Smith rivers at night for many seasons in the 80's and 90's,
then the fishing fell off, and I haven't been back. Used to cast rebel plugs around the saw mill
area. Has this fishing come back? Thanks!
Is there any striper fishing on the Umpqua at tyhjis time? Thanks.
Please give a report on your kokanee fishing! I will be fishing for kokanee
in various eastern WA lakes this fall and would be glad to share information.
A popular place is from the Hood Park bridge down to and including
the confluence with the Columbia River. Follow the boats.
After many years of experimenting, often with complicated recipes,
I now use Andy's Fish Batter from Amazon, either the yellow or red
variety, sometimes mixing the two. I use this with all white fish. Lately,
we've been using a hot air fryer, and this coating is crispy without the
fat of thicker batter.
