Fishing with two friends today. Looking for Walleye on the Columbia River near Vantage. Caught and lost one at the boat and caught one squaw fish. Tough conditions, water was moving pretty hard, but the weather was great until about 11pm, over 100 on the water. Got out on the water at 5:30am. Headed to Lake Kachess for Kokanee tomorrow morning.

We usually run out of luck on the walleye down there around the end of June. Good luck on the Kokanee tomorrow 👍

Please give a report on your kokanee fishing! I will be fishing for kokanee
in various eastern WA lakes this fall and would be glad to share information.

Did you know that they are going to change the name of Squaw fish, Yes some now call that name RACIST. All my 80 plus years I never looked at it that way? Boy are we ever being changed! I have had up to 50 engineers, techs, male and female, secretary, etc. working in my Branch composed of all different nationalities and just saw them as the guys with only one interest in mind to put out accurate and on time documents to support the fleet. Only time when I had to look at each race is when annually the government would come to me and want me to document how many of which race worked for me. Shameful.

I had to erase my initial reply. Let’s just say I think a lot of people need to be slapped along the side of the head to wake up.

Kerry they're not going to change the name. They have changed the name. Several years ago.
