Hey, Dwayne, I'm fairly new to Longview, too. I fly fish with my Tenkara rods and can say with 100% confidence that it's really hard to find access to rivers and creeks up here. There are a few good spots, but I've found the trout to be 4"-6", so not much excitement there.

Good luck!

P.S. See...I didn't even need to write a couple of books about it...

I moved to Vancouver a little over 4 years ago also one problem that I have also found out is where you do have access for fishing during the summer, months you'll find people playing in the water.

I moved out of California almost 4 years ago and glad I did I live in Vancouver WA now. It seems like they tax everything there now days. I had a 2007 Ford Sport Trac Explore the license and registration was going down like it should every year and then all of a sudden it jumped up almost extra $40.00 a year. When I registered it up here it was like around $80.00 a year. I now own 2020 Chevy Colorado and registration on it is less than $100.00 a year. And for stander fishing license's up here is $29.95 a year plus you get free pass for state parks. And they wonder why people are moving out of state there and i was beginning to wonder what they did with all that money from taxes and other fees there in California.

We used all three sizes 1, 2 -1/2 and 5-gallon gas cans at work for a number of years and always found them to be a pain in the ass to use. We always had trouble with the release button sticking and trying to put gas in lawn mowers, tractors and other vehicle's because they were hard to try and balance them and hold the button in at the same time because the button wouldn't push in or it wouldn't release when done filling up.

I have been buying fishing licenses in Calif for over 65 years went on today and got mine 84 dollars that’s for two poles no sturgeon or steelhead or any other frills. Seems like last year I only paid just 62 same license. Where does all the money go. In the 76 years I’ve been fishing been checked one tome and have fished all over northern Calif there are less fish now and less places to fish. Other states give senior’s a break on license. Probably general fund gets a good deal of funds and we all know where that money goes
I have been buying fishing licenses in Calif for o... (show quote)

Here in Washington state the fishing license go from April 1st to March 31st, and it only coast me $22.25 and it's good for all freshwater fish and I'm 67 years old. When I lived in California, I always wondered what the state did with that money. It's also like vehicle registration fees what they with all that money when I lived there, I owned a 2007 Ford Sport Trac Explorer and registration fee that I paid was something like $180.00 and the year before it was like around $160.00 and that was in 2019 when I moved here to Washington state, I figured that the registration fee is supposed to go down not up as the vehicle got older. I now own a 2020 Chevy Colardo pickup and just paid the registration fee on it and was just little over a hundred dollars.

When I was a kid growing up in Hayward Calif. in the 60s we had Hunt's cannery there that processed tomatoes into ketchup, tomato paste, canned tomatoes, and tomato sauce during the summertime you would see nothing but truck after a truck carrying tomatoes going through downtown Hayward on A street to the cannery. Also, you had the giant wooden tanks that held Vinger that you could smell. Then you had DelMonte cannery in Oakland that processed peaches and other fruit my mother worked there during the summer months as a teenager in the late 40s slicing and pealing them for canning they also had a cannery in Alameda I don't know what they did there.

This is why you're told never to leave your vehicle untended when filling up your gas tank I guess they don't have environmental laws in Australia where it's against the law to wash gasoline spill down with water into the drain and pollute the environment and better hope nobody throughs a match or cigarette in the gutter or storm drain then he would have some real trouble.

I used to work for a local school district in the grounds department when I lived in California in the east bay part of San Francisco bay. One summer I was put in charge of trapping ground squirrels at one of our schools I was told to take them to the local animal shelter which was up on a hill they told me to let them loose, there were eagles, hawks, and owls that lived in the trees up there which took care of some them. I must have caught 40 to fifty squirrels that summer I would put about a teaspoon of peanut butter on the trap of the cage. We use to poison them until we got too many complaints about doing that so that's when I started trapping them. Chris H/

Almost had bad memories of Eagle Lake we were camped at the north campground in the early 70s and they were blasting and building the road around the lake the company that was doing the blasting didn't give their guy enough time to warn the people in the campground that they were setting off a blast and my dad almost got hit by a rock little bit bigger than a softball in the head. I also have a friend that owns a property lot on the south end of the lake who can't build on it because of some stupid rule that you have to own two adjourning lots which are owned by different people on both sides of them.

I hey to tell you this but your mistaken BPS bought out Cabela's not the other way around and if you go to their websites there is no mention of Sportsman's Warehouse being own or bought by them and same thing if you go to Sportsman's Warehouse website there is no mention of BPS and Cabela's buying them out. And to also to let you know that I had read article in the business section of the local newspaper when I lived in Calif. about Sportsman Warehouse buying all their guns and ammunition from Dick's Sporting goods because of all the controversy about all the gun violence.

Actually, it's Dicks Sporting Goods and Sportsman Warehouse that are affiliated. Sportsman Warehouse bought all the shotting supplies from Dicks Sporting Goods in California when the guns and ammo laws got so strickled that Decks didn't want deal with it anymore.

One of the main problems in Las Vegas is how much water the casino's use and the second is the over growing population of the people moving their and trying to make it green like back home with green lawns and other plants. What southern Cailfornia needs to do is build a desalting plant and make fresh water from the ocean. If Israel can do in for a whole country they should be able to do the same thing their and stop beating round the bush about it.

I've also have fished Hat creek in Sept and the water is flowing pretty good and also to let you know that the creek is the water supply for most of the residents that live along Hat Creek so no wading or swimming is allowed.

Where's hat at?

Hat Creek is east of Redding and starts near Mt. Lassen and flows north and meets up with Pit river and then flows in to Lake Britton most of the creeks and rivers are formed from under ground springs that flow up through the lava beds that cover the valley area. The trout fish are planted in the creek but if you head north to Highway 299 were the road cross's the creek their is area that has wild trout and is great for fly fishing and is strictly only barb less hooks only.
