I have been replacing mine with the "
no spill" has cans they ate east to use and really are no spill. you just push the button and when you want it to stop take your thumb off and it stops. highly recommend them. however they are pricy but they are really nice and easy to use.

There is aftermarket parts for them that will make newer can like the older ones. Tube cap vent etc.

The new gas cans were cleverly designed to be both highly frustrating and an extreme fire hazard. Any difficulty you experience is in keeping with government policy.

you really have to give the no-spill a try I have not found them frustrating or any great fire hazard unless you do something stupid like light a match to see how full it is. I have no vested interest in them other than I was always frustrated with the gas cans until I tried this one out and it really is easy to use a lot safer since there is no over spills or dribbles when you stop or while you are using it, really works well. comes in different sizes depending on your needs. I think you will be pleasantly surprised. Only draw back is the price but for me paying the extra for one that actually works well was worth it.

you really have to give the no-spill a try I have ... (show quote)

I doubt everyone buys the GOOD ones like you posted. You’re right though that type are very nice to work with. Professional tree arborist use that type. I will figure the complaints are for the cheaper modern types that you have to catch the edge of the nozzle on a dirt bike tank or lawn mower etc to open the spring loaded valve.

I have been figuring the different type cans that keep coming out are more about the can vendors trying to make new designs constantly more than it is any laws changing.

wow! thanks, seems to me that the manufacturers are constantly changing threads and one has a hard time sealing other spouts to your can.
like a light bulb the threads should be small, or medium, or large...that's it!. any small would fit a small!
it's gas, for god sake.
but of course... we have been wrong before.
