Who were you with, when and what V.V. event are you attending?
I was with 377 Security Police Squadron TSN Jan 72-Jan 73.
Heroes Honor Festival Memorial Day weekend Daytona Beach, especially to honor Vietnam vets and give them the welcome home they never received . Free to attend for Veterans. Check out their website. There is a great line up and activities.
My wife and I are coming early and I hope to do some surf fishing.
No news, but I will be heading there next week Friday for a Vietnam Veterans event Memorial Day weekend. Going early to hit up the surf for some pompano and what ever wants to bite.
I'm new to this (fishing stage) could you have info on both lake Shavers and Huntington.
I fished Huntington Lake several times years ago when we used camp out there. Our best spot was on the dam using sliding clear bobber slowly sinking with either a power worm or piece of night crawler. Find the depth they are biting and then maybe use a sliding bobber with a stopper for the right depth and a piece of nightcrawler for bait.
DVL is still tough right now. Water needs to warm up some. The cove you mentioned by the inlet, years ago we ran into a school of brown trout . That was before the stripers took over the lake. DVL used to be my favorite lake.

Many years ago we fished Huntington Lake succesfully from the dam with a sliding bobber setup and a crawler or bubble filled with water and a powerworm.
Gee guys I feel like last place now with our 48 years on May 1. Great times and continue all the hard work making it another year😂😂
I'll take your last place! 45 years last Saturday. She and a cousin picked me up from the airport after I got home from Vietnam. I fished DVL many times, but never fished Perris yet. Planning to some day. God bless.
I began my Military career with 2 tours in Vietnam and ended 24 Years later when I retired after several months in the Iraqi desert. I say THANKS to those that didn’t make it home alive.
I say thanks to all those who went Welcome Home brother!
And those kids. I cannot look at that wall with dry eyes or without a lump in my throat. USN - 68 to 89. 58000 names. The horrific price that was payed. For what? Such a waste.
Thanks for remembering National Vietnam Veterans Day!

Slow salute the 58,00 plus who did not make it home. Their names are on the Wall. Reflection of the sunrise. A ray of hope for the living. Welcome Home. God bless!
