Advice Needed on Catching Carp Feeding Off Surface

So, recently I was out fishing in a local lake around sunrise, and I was seeing quite a bit of activity on the surface from carp. They were kind of jumping out of the water a bit, I assumed they were eating bugs or something off the surface. This was in approximately 12-14 feet of water. Anyways, I was wondering if it’s possible to catch carp when they are behaving like this, and if so, what would you use? I’m familiar with fly fishing and regular fishing, I just haven’t targeted carp much with either. But there seemed to be a good number of them around me and I thought it would be fun to hook up with a few next time if I notice it happening. TIA!

SlyShooter: Have you ever heard of "match the hatch"? So, to the best of your ability, find a fly that matches what the carp are feeding upon at your local lake. If they are carp and eating bugs or other insects on the surface, it should not be too hard to connect with them using an artificial fly or bug. Just Sayin...RJS

If you are seeing carp just they are probably not feeding some do this to rid themselves of parasites. When a carp feeds on the surface usually you will just see it’s lips sucking on the surface

When I was a kid I noticed the carp would be attacking the leaves floating from the trees in the autumn so I would buy a loaf of bread use a bear hook on a string no weight involved and let it float down the stream just like the leaves man did I catch a bunch of big mud Carp doing that!
They suck that bread down and takeoff like a rocket!

Never tried popcorn. Don't know why it wouldn't work.

I've seen carp caught on flies so I know it can be done. It was during the spring shad run so it was probably a marabou streamer that caught it.
