Flounder, shark, reds, snook, lady fish, jack, trout, sheepshead, pompano, a cold in all this rain and wind.
Take A1A up to the inlet and do some pier fishing while she sits and suns.
I purchased a new spinning reel for my rod today and had it wound with 20# braid. When I got home and went to mount it on my rod, I found it was a Med/Fast graphite/fiberglass rated for 10-17# line and 3/8-3/4oz. lures. If I go ahead and put the reel w/20# braid on this rod what will be the down side? And will it affect the size of lure? Or should I just reload the reel with 15# braid. I'm fishing an area of low current for Red fish and snook. Thanks.
Kastking is thin for the weight. The reel will hold more. It's available in multi colors. Price is a little less. No memory. Check it out.

Check out
www.kastking.com for many choices of top quality reels at under $100. Look at brake systems and reel speeds before making a decision. I started with the Spartacus Plus with a great brake system for first time users and 6.3 retrieve for only $46.
lI was used to the left crank on the spinning rod so got the left on the casting rod. Don't regret not having to switch hands after every cast.
If you are smoking fish, then you need a smoker that will have a low temp. I have a Big Chief for that. Highly recommended for low temps as it will only get to 165. Over that and you want to consider "set and forget" (Electric or gas like MasterBuilt or CharBroil"or "tend it all day with beer in hand" (and the only way I would recommend is an offset like Horizon or Oklahoma Joe) . I have the OJ and think the Horizon is better built and will hold temp better. Also, PLEASE invest in a good "Thermoworks" thermometer.
Mako98, I'm no fan of the Ugly Stik but I'm wondering, um...why are you selling "pieces of junk" in your store?
TobiasFF, I just bought my first bait caster. But b4, thought about just what you said. Right hand casting and then switching hands. Since I crank with my left hand when spinning, I thought...why not do that with a bait casting reel, so I got a left hand reel and don't regret it. It's all in what you get used to.
I just did a lot of looking for a bait casting rig. My first too. I wanted something not just for casting, but I wanted to flip and pitch as well as skip under the many docks on the river. AND I had small budget.
I just yesterday ordered a KastKing Spartacus Plus reel for $46 and a KastKing M/H fast 7'3" casting rod for $75 from Amazon. Added 500yds. of 50lb. braid (which this real will take), got a $15 discount on the rod (don't know why, but they offered it just by clicking on a box).
In a few days I'll be practicing with my new tools. In the meantime, I'm on youtube trying to learn how to avoid those inevitable backlashes.
Abu Garcia combos are also good, inexpensive rigs. That's my spinning setup.
Have fun.

I have been using spin cast reels and just starting bait casting. I'm wondering the same thing, left or right crank for flipping or pitching. Does the crank on the left get in the way while flipping with the right hand???
Cleaning out an old tackle box that my wife got me at auction, I found a package of Blue "Dip Worms" by J&N. Anyone ever heard of them and what are they for and how do you use them?
Thanks in advance.
Could that be a munk fish?
