I've been meaning to buy a smoker for awhile now. Wondering if anyone can recommend a good quality reasonably priced smoker

I didn't think about that, I definitely have some coworkers that smoke. I can even get them to do it on company time

I would go with a kamado style grill due to the versatility. You can smoke, but also grill at high temps. Makes great bbq, but it’s also great for things like pizza. I have a pretty cheap Chargriller Akorn and I’ve done 12 hour smokes at 275 no problem. Anything from ribs, pork butts, brisket, chili, Mac and cheese, turkeys, you name it. I plan on upgrading to a Kamado Joe sometime next year.

This is one of those "It depends" situations. Do you enjoy bbq, and the process of making it? If you just want to smoke fish, I would suggest a Bradley electric. Mostly painless, not particularly versatile. If you love bbq, don't mind spending the time to get your smoker up to temperature and ready to cook on, then a Kamado is the way to go. From low temp fish smokes to high-temp sears or pizza, it can do everything. Then you have the electric pellet smoker. Turn it on, set the temp and you're good to go. Anything from fish to turkey & steak with no problem. Traeger is the top brand in pellet smokers. They do have an upper limit around 450F I believe, so you will still need your high-temp cooker for serious searing.
Good luck.

Had a brother inlaw that has passed that liked the EGG smoker, But he never turned down a meal out of my home made propane smoker.
Check out the ones at Lowes
Try the Weber Smoky Mountian. It's a charcole smoker, easy to use and the best price point for what you get. Then checkout amazing ribs .com for help, the BBQ bible.
