When I was a boy we caught fish like that but that was many many years ago nice to see sum still get that big great catch

Power bait is excellent and for casting or trolling I like rooster tails
If your line is low it catches and stops the cast try to new spool
I guess I would go the next step up ,can your son use a spinning reel if not stick to press buttton
