I was having a great day landing and releasing some decent LM, when this beauty hit. Fat, about 10 inches, .84 lbs. I was amazed by the coloring.
Caught on a Wacky rigged 3" piece of Flick Shake, watermelon red flake.

Fireguy, that is a trophy Gill in anyone’s book! I would equate a 10” Gill to a 6# bass in our region. Nice.

That’s one really nice Gill! That would look great dancing around on the business end of my catfish rig waiting on a big ole flathead to eat it for dinner.

That is a big, beautiful gill for sure. The largest I’ve EVER caught were 12” long. That was in SE Kansas, in the Strip Pits, using pieces of night crawlers. They fight good and taste great!!
A friend of mine, who was my boss many years ago, has a few of those trophy bluegills hanging on his wall that are over 12” he caught there as well.

My Motto,

Catch, Photo, Release!

Unless one of my neighbors wants one to eat.

That's a very nice Bluegill. Where did you catch him? I assume it was the Connecticut river. If so, what part?
