Fished the hick yesterday water temp around 65 by noon had decent day had 41/4 & 5# along with 4 dink all came n about 2-3 ft good luck & tight lines

It was late fall of last year I was out on Old Hickory by myself I had caught several decent bas & stripe using 3/8 once steel shad that I use a lot once water temp gets around 50 degrees I got hit like a freight train he peeled drag for 100yd before I could check him up I was medium action 7’ rod 12#line after several more runs an hr later finally got him up.Sturgeon 6’ I would estimate 70#line broke no picture just another memory Tight Lines

Search Dale Hallow lake there are several in that area
I used to catch Kentucky bass in that area 40years ago
I’ve had several on Kentucky lake none close to the one yesterday they really get active when water gets below 60 degrees
I fished priest on Monday had a 4# largemouth fished old hickory today caught 20 largemouth with 1~4#fought a bullhead carp an hour finally got along side boat broke off never seen such a monster fresh water fish it was 5 foot long estimate at least 70#and of course I was buy myself fish are finally doing what they should be doing water temp 57degrees tight lines every one

I fish old hickory pretty often as it’s convenient to me in the last couple weeks I’ve caught several bass on frog buzz bait & big worm around weed beds if that’s not working i stripe fish they are really running now in last week I’ve probably caught couple hundred up to 3# great time to take kids anywhere in creek channel 8-14 feet Tight Lines & follow channel markers
