Thank everyone for your prayers and good wishes my disk fusion surgery went very good and I'm on the mend. Kinda feels like my head is on a spring and my throat is sore, feels like I swallowed a golf ball, from the surgery but everything went very well as far as I can tell. They went in from the front so I've got about a 5 inch cut on the front of my throat. I think the worst part was the day after when they pulled the drain tube out, probably 6 inches of tube, that kinda smarted. Anyway I feel pretty good, walked close to a quarter mile this morning but to be just a couple days out I feel pretty goodl. The numbness on my hand and fingers is gone so hopefully we got in front of any permanent nerve damage.

Glad to hear that Ivey.
First the shingles then your neck.
You should be in good shape for fishing this yr
Hearing how well it went for you may ease my mind.
I see Dr next month about mine.
Two opinions steroid injections or operation.
Dr already told me what he do if surgery was needed.

Let it heal brother πŸ‘πŸŽ£πŸ˜Š

That's great news Mike. Follow all the doctor's instructions, and don't push too hard. Let it fully heal before you go wild on those Smalljaw. Glad you're doing well. πŸ™πŸ‘πŸ»

Grizz, I went the steroid injection route with my back and it didn't turn out to well. The steroid mask the pain for a while but the nerve damage still continues. I'm looking at another back surgery later this year probably to fix the problem of me putting the first surgery off to long. Just saying knowing what I know now I should have had the surgery sooner and left the steroid out of the equation. If you've got a good Dr. that you trust I'd say go for the surgery and get things fixed permanently. By the way if you do go for surgery get a good Neuro surgeon, don't let an Ortho Surgeon touch the spine, just my experience

Just now heard of your disc problems Ivey so prayers for a speedy recovery will be coming your way. And ditto on that Neuro surgeon for Griz. I was under the knife 2 months ago and did the research on the surgeons too for a spinal stenosis procedure. The injection option would have been just a band aid.

Great news Ivey, take it easy and let the swelling subside. Check into any available physical therapy and do it, if they prescribe any! Please keep us posted. πŸ™πŸ»

Thanks for the info Ivey.
That's why I don't get into taking pain meds.
As you said mask the pain n do the damage.
The Dr is Neurologist.
One of the best around.
If surgery is needed I'll do what's needed.
After I get the Eagle trip in πŸ‘πŸ˜Š
Hope you heal quickly brother πŸ‘
