Got out for a short trip last night, I've got a pinched nerve in my neck and it sure makes getting them Smallies hooked. Managed to get 3 in the boat, broke 1 off and just didn't get a good hook set on 3 more that came off. A good night all in all but probably my last till I find out what's up in my neck go the 11th. Right hand and fingers are going numb so it ain't gonna be good news.

Many yrs ago I woke up with a pain in my shoulder.About1pm my right arm went numb.
Turned out to be a partially collapsed disk in my neck.

Good luck with the neck & numbness. Sounds awfully similar to an issue I had years ago. Wound up having a cervical discectomy with inter body fusion at C-5/6. Surgery was successful and glad I had it done.

The night bite has been pretty good lately, i just haven't been taking pics. I'm catching the majority in 15 to 20 ft of water off the side or out on main lake points. Jig & chunk with a glass rattle inserted and the rattle seems to matter, I fished with a friend last week he wouldn't use a rattle and he caught 1, I caught 9 with the rattle. had mixed results with a Spinnerbait one night the fish wouldn't hit anything except one and they have been slamming them. Now if I can get this neck thing taken care of maybe I'll get back out after them. I love fishing after dark, the wind normally lays down the water gets slick and the bite is awesome

Beautiful smallmouth's there Ivey! Enjoy the future night bites that you get out for and I hope that your neck issue ends up to be just having slept oddly on your pillow one night. I've had it be that simple....
I've been to a chiropractor about 5 times over my lifetime so far, always for pinched nerve stuff. He gave me some good advice one day by saying that certain lifestyle habits regarding posture can slowly lead up to critical moments when you are vulnerable and then things like this happen. "Knock on wood", but so far I have been trying to remember the advice I was given and it has helped me see things coming before they get too bad.
That being said though, I tend to recreate like I am an indestructible "ram rod" and sometimes I forget the posture guidelines and end up sustaining an ache that I could have avoided!
