You know, I have found that there seems to be 3 different categories people seem to be in when referring to the 3 meals of the day.
Cat 1) Breakfast, lunch and dinner
Cat 2) Breakfast, lunch and supper. or
Cat 3) Breakfast, dinner and supper.

Which category do you fall under?

Nice batch of fish Ranger. Those filets look great. It would be nice to see a video on how to filet a trout. I tried it once and the skeleton had more meat than the filets! Show us your technique please.

Eleven anglers busted for snagging fish at night on Salmon River
By Steve Featherstone | sfeatherstone@syracuse.com

New York State Department of Environmental Conservation police officers (ECOs) busted 11 anglers last month for snagging fish after dark on the Salmon River.

ECOs received a tip at around 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 22 that a group of anglers were fishing the Black Hole section of the Salmon River. The Black Hole is a popular fishing spot just west of Pulaski, below the sewer treatment plant. Fishing is not allowed at night on the Salmon River.

When ECOs arrived at the location, they noticed someone in the parking lot serving as a lookout for the anglers. Rather than alert the lookout to their presence, ECOs stayed hidden and used thermal night vision to observe anglers blind snatching—or snagging—fish.

ECOs surprised the anglers and ordered them to put their fishing gear on the ground, then gathered up salmon already on stringers. They issued 26 tickets for violations including possession of weighted hooks, snag hooks, snatching, fishing after hours, and failure to possess a fishing license.

This really burns me. They need to be made an example of. A hefty fine, confiscate their gear and a two year ban from fishing would be a good start. If caught again or violating the terms of their penalties then a huge fine and jail time is in order.

My Alaskan fishing buddies and I stayed at one of their cabins in Lincoln and then drove up to Silver Lake and Bear River Reservoir to do some trout fishing these lat few days. Beautiful weather, beautiful scenery but fishing was a bust. Found out from another angler that live minnows as bait under a bobber was what worked vs. the worms/marshmallow or power bait or casting lures. Oh well, it was a great time with friends and that really was my main goal, so goal achieved for me!

Absolutely gorgeous scenery. No fish is a minor inconvenience. We’re those lakes in Ca.
Or Alaska?

I went to O'neill Forebay yesterday and was told that I couldn't launch my boat due to it being a per-1999 2 cycle. Very disappointing to me as it's been a great place to fish when I used to have an inflatable with trolling motor. Plus I got up at 4:00am and drove 99 miles! UGH!
Just wondering. Thanks

I know that 2 strokes have been forbidden around Tahoe for some time. Some Bay Area lakes forbid them as well. Used to fish the forebay and San Luis with my two stroke a few years ago. I guess this is the new reality. Tough for those still owning 2 strokes.

Heading to Mammoth Thursday. Any advice for bank fishing the area? I’ve never fished Lake Mary or Convict , usually fish the June Lake loop but not sure of shore accessibility
due to the snow.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

We fished Eagle Lake for 3 days and caught a total of 29 fish and kept 12. We trolled the south east side
of the lake in 30 to 40 feet of water and our lures at about 12 to 15 feet. The hot color was all silver. the
only thing I had like that was a silver cripple lure but not sure and silver needle fish .

Beautiful fish. Eagle Lake trout are the best tasting trout!

I was there 3 weeks ago and saw Two salmon caught within 5 minutes of each other.
I had never seen this technique before but it obviously works.

Del Valle is dead till they start planting in winter. Los Vaqueros has strippers and trout but I would recommend renting a boat until the water cools down.
