That is one really nice fish!
If that was me telling the story it would be at least 15# caught in a rain puddle with a piece of hot dog tied to my shoelace.

I am from So Cal so I don't get up that way as much as I would like.
What you have shared is really great and speaks volumes about your kindness and willingness to help others
by selflessly sharing the information that you have acquired through many years of fishing that area.
Thank You!

Congratulations Jarhead!
2024 is a good year, I will also be celebrating my 40th anniversary on June 2nd. The last 3 years the wife has been kind enough to let me go fishing on the Fall River, No. Cal on our anniversary but this year we're going together to Bend,OR for something new to both of us.

Morning all! Looking for gas leak sounds a little scary but I suppose you'll wear a mask and use some kind of meter?

Funny joke too!!

Kandy that is too advanced. He just walks around with a long stem bbq lighter and as the flame gets bigger he knows he's getting closer.

I’d probably rather buy them too I’m sure, but was just wondering how to put it together if I’m being too cheap

I did the same as you when I was first getting started in fly fishing. Check out the web site "Global Flyfisher"
lots of great info. The one thing that you will learn is how to tie a blood knot.

Nice catch, nice story. Thought it was going to end with you losing the fish while messing with the phone. Glad it did not!!

I thought it was going to end with the phone in the water.
Great job!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful spring. Anyone fishin’ the Forks of the Kern River and its tributaries…I’m thinking’ the flow is fairly high and murky from snow melt.

Go on you tube and look up Guy Jeans. He has a fly shop in Kernville and has been doing current reports . Even though he mostly fly fishes you can get an idea of how the fishing is and the current conditions. I need to get up there myself I understand that the fishing has been great.
Good Luck

Got my first license, with Dad’s 51’ Studebaker. 3 on the tree. 🌴 starter button on the floor. “Hill Holder” clutch. Wish I had it… 🐟on

First learned to drive around 13 years old, with a 43 Willy's jeep, 3 speed on the floor, starter on the floor. Moved up to a 61 Chevy 1/2 ton with 3 on the tree. I had to go with Mom when she drove the Chevy because the shifter linkage would occasionally slip out and I would have to pop the hood reach in and reset the linkage.
