I got a gently used fly rod from my high school shop teacher. Had it for years before I broke it transporting it. Yeah, used is good
There are a lot of older cane poles on eBay. I look for Herter‘s products. Include “vintage” in the search. As a kid, I spent hours in the Herter’s catalog. My first pole was a cane pole from Herter’s.
I’m a big fan of Bass Pro Shop combos. The Bionic Blade is a fantastic line of casting and spinning rods. Their reels are very good. Good place to start without breaking the bank.
You could never go wrong with a Bionic Blade from Bass Pro Shops

Okay. Find points, dropoffs, weedbeds, submerged rocks, stumps and trees and look for inlet streams or creeks. Talk to other anglers and to local sporting goods store people. Ask them where they catch bass and walleye. Use large live baits. Your fish finder was stolen and you're not going to troll so there go two of the best tips for finding and catching large fish. But here's one more tip: keep your truck locked and your valuables out of sight. It's just possible you might still have your fish finder if you had.

No doubt on the locked truck. Roving gangs of teenagers stealing in my city. Graph was under the back seat. Truck was in my driveway and they screwed up my door getting in.
Looks like there’s no magical situation to ease my pain. I found a few spots on the map that can be fished from all angles. Lotsa good suggestions. Thanks.
Open to any and all thoughts.

I agree with Doc. Also the Garmin Striker 4 plus awesome little fish finders. Also keep in mind everybody wants to catch big fish sometimes that just didn't happen. ever heard the phrase sometimes you bite the bear sometimes the bear bites you LOL. Tight lines and good luck
I had the Garmin Striker. Some pimple broke into my truck and stole it. It was a portable model.
Also, I have to reiterate, I’m a life long fisherman...literally thousands of hours on the water. Fishing etiquette is not the issue, it’s making it work with what I have.
The boat is an I/O which idles down well but sans planer boards et al, trolling with 6 would be a nightmare. There are spots with structure along with vertical jigging in the holes etc. I have charts but I was/am hoping for tips for the boat situation. It’s a 26 footer. My wife and I are the only ones with a line in the water the entire time. Just looking to make everyone’s experience a good one.

Bass or walleye.
So, my in-laws bought a pontoon boat to have family fishing trips, etc. As a life long fisherman I was tasked with the operation of the boat and finding fishing spots. I located a few nice pan fishing spots that produced meals every time out. Here’s my issue: They all want to catch bigger fish. There are bass and walleye where we fish. The boat has no graphics or bow mounted trolling motor. Absent these tools, how do I get them on good fishing with 6 or more people? Thanks
When I was a little kid (8) I bought, with my own earned money, a Herter’s Model Perfect Alaskan plug. It was billed as so effective on every species of fish it should be illegal. Of course I had to get it, I mean George Leonard Herter was a world class sportsman, he would know. I dragged that damn thing around a lake for a week and never had a hit. So, my dad told me how my uncle bought a “book” with sure fire best ever fishing tips. Tip #1 “Paint the bottom of your boat blue”. I felt better.

The reason I’m thinking long ear is because of the lack of the red spot next to the dark ear spot.
I see your point. But it doesn’t have that pronounced ’forehead‘ of a longear. I’m thinking maybe a mutation of sorts.
Since the 80s I’ve used a Thill TG Waggler for pan fishing. I usually keep an extra because I end up giving one to someone wrassling the skunk. Waxworm on a small hook. Fish almost catch themselves when they’re on the bite. I filet them. Drag the filet through flour and fry. The simpler the better.

If the nut still screws back on but comes loose over time use some loctite blue thread locker.

I concur. Give Loctite a go before you buy new parts.
