I love to fish but I never catch any thing, it is a well stocked pond. Any ideas

Several things that you can do
Speak with the local bait shop for advice on tackle lures and baits and when fishing don’t be afraid to ask questions of other fisher persons there. Most will share techniques and get you on the right track.

You have to target one type of fish. The best way is to start small. A bobber and worm will usually catch some sun fish or bass. Buidl your confidence then read a book or mag to learn other species

Try fishing a 6” Senko Green Pumpkin on a 5/O off-set fishing hook. Cast it out and let it sink to the bottom, slowly crank in the line and stop after 3 complete rotations of the spool. Repeat, repeat and keep repeating until the Senko in all the way in, cast out again and repeat the same technique until you you catch a fish.

Best all around bait, any fish in a pond would like, is a good old night crawler. Other wise known as an earth worm. A fish hook and sinker is all you need. This is what I did for my children when they first started to fish and some of the time they out fished me. While I used artificial lures.

Well Pistol: I don't know anything about where you are, the fish, or water. But where and what ever they are, they have to eat! All the prior fishermen have given good advice, but if you are desperate, use live bait, what the fish subsist on, if possible. Earth worms, minnows, and such are basic foods in most waters. In salt water, shrimp.
Also in the summer, frogs, bugs, small birds, grasshoppers and crickets are part of many fish diets. After kindergarten, there are many choices with plastic worms which I see have been recommended. I might add a spinning bait as a more advanced choice during bass spawning this spring. Just my opinion! RJs

On a scale of 1-10 how much do you know and how much and what kinds of fishing equipment if any. If you don't have any don't worry. There are articles written on any and all ways of fishing, When you decide what you want to catch tell us on here and someone will help you start where you are and get you pointed in the right direction. I go back and read their post and I have been some kind of fishing since I was in 2nd grade and the people have been also. The ONLY DUMB QUESTION is not ASKING it.

I agree with RJS the most for a pond. The Air Force Major... and Ron. Everyone else is here to help you as well. Make sure your hands and hook etc don’t have some stinky contamination that will prevent a fish from eating bait. You don’t want your microwaved burrito or hotdog dipped in Engine Oil.... just like a fish don’t want a grasshopper that drank Diesel fuel like a cold beer. Try Ron’s suggestion.... if no bites put a fresh live worm or local bug from near the pond on a hook and do RONS technique of reeling. If no bites put on a bobber. Start at a foot below ( bait ) the bobber and add 6 inches after every 3 casts. If you still don’t get any fish. I would figure there isn’t any or there is so much natural food they won’t ever bite something.
