Vent the prop hub. When on take off, the prop pulls some exhaust gas with the water raising the rpm somewhat. At plane, the boat will lunge a little as the exhaust gas goes straight through the hub. Acts like an automatic transmission.

Carb help

Rochester quadrojet is an automotive carburetor. Could be the accelerator pump diaphragm inside the carburetor. This pump is responsible for improving acceleration from idle.

What is the best Catfish lure?

I just recently caught an 8# Channel cat on a “Gulp” 2-3” minnow rigged swim bait style. Water was 50* and depth 30ft on a channel ledge drifting with the wind. Good luck!

Trolling motor advice

Please be aware that all rivers flood at times. I would hate to hear you were caught on a flooded river in a 10’ John boat trying to get home with an electric trolling motor!

What am I doing wrong here? Bad reel? Bad line? Bad fisherman?

Sometimes when I remove a spool (Mitchel) and replace it with another the spool, it can be difficult to reseat properly.

Winter shad

Freshwater shad? Do not do well in cold water. They die off at 54* F. I recently printed Text pages concerning prey species habits etc. including shad off the internet. Learn their seasonal movements and be there when they are.

Need help, what type of trailer do I put on? Or should I even add a trailer?

During the bass spawn; bass chase intruders in the nest area. The result is the bass snaps at the spinner bait but doesn’t get hung. This what the trailer hook is for - when fish snap at the bait.
